thanks I really like the excels and thats pretty close to what I was thinking, have you tried the micro guide excels? I was thinking of getting a 7ft Med micro guide and a 7'3" MH do you think that would be better or worse?

Just bought two brand new abu garcia revo s's for $80 bucks each (good deal I know!) any way I'm need to get two rods for the reels. Heres what I wan't to do with them cranks,spinners,jigs,topwater I know this is hard to cram into two rods but It would be awesome to get some advice on what I should get. I would like to stay longer than 6'6" and shorter than 7'3". Here are the rods I am looking at, e21 wild series, lamiglas excel, shimano compre. I would also consider abu garcia veritas, T.F.O gary loomis sig. series, and st. croix mojo bass rods. Which series would you get and why? what lengths and actions would you get and why? I'm taking a trip to Smith mountain lake in the middle of June, any advice from people who have fished there? I read on the va game and fish site that the Roanoke river branch is best for Large mouth and the dam for striper. At a guess I'm going to say that the bass will be in 8-18ft of water (am I right?) but I honestly have never fished the lake before. Any special colors that work there? Here's some of my specialties Bass fishing anywhere I get the chance (love to fish plastics and top water but I do it all) Gar fishing Rappahonnock river (secret location) Catfishing the James river (blues and flatheads) Spot and croaker (cheasapeake bay) Trolling for striper around the cheasapeake bay bridge tunnel Night fishing underwater fishlights on the North river for smaller rockfish (mobjack bay area) Smallmouthing on the James and Shenandoah rivers I recently finished restoring a 13ft boston whaler that I have set up like a bass boat and I also tag along with other people on their boats whenever they invite me. I have no preferred type of fishing but I am most knowledgeable in bass fishing (but far from pro)
