  1. Wow! I've read some reviews elswhere that they break easily.
  2. I may have to swing by Dick's sometime. I'm an hour and a half from Macon.
  3. I want to leave it on the water and cover it, which is difficult to do with a tarp.
  4. That is what worries me. The reviews are bad on that cover at BPS and at other vendors that sell the same tarp.
  5. I'm thinking about the Berkley AMP rod for my next purchase. Where do they sell them? I don't want to order it and have it shipped, unless the price is better than what I can pick up locally and the selection is good. I see where K-Mart has them online.....
  6. Ya'll know where to get a good cover for these boats?
  7. I'm looking for a "good" cover for my 10' Bass Hunter. The Bass Hunter is very simillar to the Bass Raider, so a cover that fits one should fit the other as long as the length is right. Any good covers you know of?
  8. How do you rig the straight shank hook in the brush hog?
  9. Thanks! Is that the one with the wire guard? I've been using them weightless and having good luck.
  10. I read a post or two in a thread that indicated that a straight shank hook work weel on getting more hook-ups than an EWG hook. What kind of straight shank hook is this?
  11. I agree. Just got a pro qualifier.
  12. Though I'm just starting out, I was amazed that I caught a couple of bass from the shore of the pond behind my house on the baby brush hog. First time I've ever tossed that lure in my life. I'm really just practicing throwing the baitcasting reels.
  13. Thanks. Thought I was doing it wrong. The hook I'm using is a weighted keel, but it doesn't seem heavy enough. I've been letting the bait fall some before I reel it in, but the water is so shallow where I'm fifhing that it doesn't seem to matter.
  14. The Exceler is great. Thanks!
  15. What type of scale do you use to weigh fish in the boat? Is there a "no brainer" scale that everyone likes?
  16. I'm new here, kinda new to bass fishing. Been posting here and getting good feedback. I have just about got the baitcasting reels down pat. No backlashes in a week! I practice every day in the pond behind my house. I need to know what the rigs I have are good for, and what else I may need to get for Fathers Day. I've got an Ugly Stik 6'6" that is medium with a Diawa Exceler 6.3:1 reel and 30 lb braid. Just purchased a BPS Pro Qualifier rod that is medium heavy with a BPS Pro Qualifier 6.4:1 reel. I want one more rod/reel combo for around $200. I'm thinking of the Shimano Citicia 200E, maybe in a faster or slower ration than the two above. Looking at a 7'6" rod, but not sure which one to get. Thinking of the BPS Carbonlie trigger rods but don't know what weight or action to get it in. Anyway, what would you add to what I already have? For baits I have shallow crankbaits, spinners, buzzers, top water, stick worms, super flukes, frogs, bush hogs, hollow-body swim baits, and rat-l-traps. What type fishing is best with the combos I have?
  17. Rigged up a 3.5" Luck "E" Strike swimabait with one of those Owner #4 Beast hooks. Seems to run very shallow (1-2'). Is this how it is supposed to run?
  18. Okay. I have all of them except live. I've never tried swimbaits, but I got someof those hollow-body Luck "E" Strike shad from BPS this weekend. Rigged it up and it seems to have decent action.
  19. I live in south Georgia and have access to some lakes, and ponds that are 10+ acres. What are the main baits I need to have on hand when I'm fishing for bass?
  20. Thanks. I think I like the braid so far.
  21. I don't think Bass Pro has the Berkley Hollow Belly swimbaits. I may order some at some point.
  22. I don't have any rocks where I fish. Is there an application where you would definetly NOT use the braided line?
  23. I'm going to BPS this weekend and wanted to look at some swimbaits. I've never fished these, but I'd like to try. The 3 I'm looking at seem very similar, they are: Strike King Shadolicious Yum Money Minnow Luck "E" Strike Bass Magic Swimbait Whci of these is easiest to get good action out of for a beginner swimbait person? What colors are generally more productive? I was planning on getting the Owner Swimbait hooks with the weighted keel. What size hooks do I get for the 4-5" swimbaits?
