Thanks for the insight bro I was leaning towards that one more than the Shimano. But I also found this one which seems to be a better deal than the last two Field & Stream 7' VR-40 IM7 8 BB Aluminum Spinning Combo. Has anyone had experience with this combo? Someone recommended it when I first became a member but I am still undecisive I don't want to make a bad purchase.

Alright so I've decided not to be such a cheapo and go for something a bit more high end for my first reel and rod combo. So far through research on the forums I've come to a decision between two combos the Shimano® Spirex FG Spinning Reel and 7' Rod Combo or the Pflueger President® Freshwater Spinning Combo. If you had a choice between these two which one would you pick and if you have any suggestions on any others brands I should check out please feel free and suggest away. I'm trying to keep it under $100. Thank you

My max is 50 bucks right now. I wouldn't mind spending more in the future after I have some experience.

Hi I'm new to fishing and I was wondering what would be a good rod and reel combo for a complete novice? I'm planning on using for large mouthbass up at Lake Taghkanic, NY. I would prefer something simple to use like a spincast combo. So far I have two rod and reel combos that I've been checking out and they are the: Rhino RSC combo: 39.99 Reel/line capacity 12lbs/80yards Rod Line Weight 8-17lbs Rod length 6ft Rod Strength Medium 4 stainless steel ballbearings Pflueger® Cetina™ Freshwater Spincasting Combo: 49.99 Reel/line capacity 10lbs/75yards Rod Line Weight 6-12lbs Rod length 6ft Rod Strength Medium 4 stainless steel ballbearings So those are the two I've pretty much have come to after a few hours research. So please let me know which one of the two you would prefer and/or let me know of a combo which would be better for my skill level and fish type. Any and all advice would be appreciated.
