Monocarbon is usually for top water lures, since it floats well. Then you have flurocarbon, which is used for crankbaits, spinners, and lures which are underwater since the line is practically invisible. Braided line is used when your fishing really nasty thick water, like heavy vegetation type of stuff. Now I favor bait cast reels, but for spinning reels you have to have low lb line or high memory line, because if you have thick line it will come off of the spool. Go with Spyderwire (walmart and other retailers have it), in my eyes if you want spinning reel line go with them.
