  1. If its to thick for a frog Or anything else, you could consider skimming the surface.
  2. You guys would love the Dolphin Rueben at The Big Chill in Key Largo. Mahi Mahi w/ mango slaw n 1000 island on toasted rye. I ordered another to go...
  3. I just bought a Cabelas worm binder I plan to fill this weekend. The bags in the BPS binders looked a bit cheap and leak prone. They had very good reviews here though.
  4. Very true! I'm very cheap so even when I'm at BPS I'm a sceptic. I usually spend most of my time annoying the tackle guys by trying different reel/rod combos.
  5. I tried to stay under $100 when I bought my first depth finder. I spent days on the Internet researching different models and features to get the best display and strongest transducer signal for my money. I ended getting a Garmin 300 for $170 otd from some marine shop in California. For your budget, look up the Lowrance X4 or Garmin Echo 150. The Hummingbird cheapy looks just that, but its probably just fine as well.
  6. Whoa, what a pig! 5+ easy...
  7. How heavy are there lures you are throwing on the 12# mono? When I started I used 1/2 oz lures and up. Anything less caused short casts AND backlashes. I trained my thumb on heavy t-rigs.
  8. Dont bass strike bait from below? I would say the fatal shad pattern would be...fatal LoL!
  9. Try different worm and weight combinations. Or even a jika rig with a 1/4 oz swivel. The action on a big worm with lighter weight looks awesome and has produced fish for me.
  10. I couldn't get a bite on flukes this weekend either. I pitched worms to cover until I found some bait fish.
  11. I tie my line to a snap swivel. Hook and bait go on first. Then the swivel sinker. Lock it and fish.
  12. Not the ultra soft? It says it's better for spinning??
  13. I tried this with a 1/4oz swivel sinker and 3/0 EWG and a zoom trick worm. Action was great but a little too much weight. I didn't have any other swivels and regret not trying a Senko.
  14. I just spooled up 15# on my bc and loved the smooth casting. But what should I put on my ml spinning set up for shaky heads and light trebles? I set the hook like tiger woods so I'm leaning toward the 8# ultra soft. I dont know if I should go lighter or stick with regular instead of ultra soft.
  15. I'll be putting that bag of 4" senkos to work. I've never been comfortable using finesse baits. I'm going to focus more on shaky heads, floating c rigs and live bait. I can get minnows in town and will try some old fashioned worms on a few gang hooks. I will try to stay between 1/8 and 1/4 oz but need a lighter line. 6# or 8# yozuri ultra soft on my ml spinning setup?
  16. Haha a buzz bait would have been fun. But I've never tried a drop shot from the shore, it always seemed strange to fish a vertical rig horizontally.
  17. I'm going to try that PondHunter. Thank god there a light bait shop just nearby. I would have tried the drop shot but I didn't have my light set up.
  18. I fish a private pond, maybe 6 acres with an island, and there's big bass in there. It's man made, clear water with a sandy bottom. We are between fronts and had a steady breeze. I wanted to fish the evening due to this "super moon" business but had to settle for 3 pm. I can see my bait swim right in front of them with no reaction. I only had plastics with me but neither produced. Tried all of them and varied the presentation, just a nibble every so often. What would have nailed a fish?
  19. Jim Beam. Straight up or mixed with diet Dr Pepper.
  20. @ #BassKing what time did you start this morning?

I have a bps xps buzz bait I'm waiting to try. I have two strike king buzz baits and never even felt a strike in either. This year's goal is to park on that dock and fish that buzzer all night.
  22. I've read if the moon rise and set times are nearly the same as the sun, the fishing will be EPIC. Working late tonight. But I will go out after dinner tmw for some popper action.
  23. That's so simply I have to try it. And it's probably less messy than the petro jelly mix I made up.
  24. I want to know more about the juice! Anise or garlic? Seriously I don't need the recipe, but some ingredients would satisfy curiosity.
