  2. I'm interested in getting my first fishing boat. ATM I don't have the means to store or transport a regular boar or kayak. So I was planning on getting a inflatable boat for now. I have looked around and found a few that interest me. It would be great if I could get some opinions on their reliability. Which one of these inflatable boats would be ideal for me? 6'2" 250lbs I plan on using it on small lake and ponds. 3. Was there ever a 2-piece Spidercast rod in any model? I've been searching Ebay, amazon, etc. I've checked there. I believe they are only 1-piece.
  4. Is anyone familiar with Mitchell Spidercast Rods? I bought this back in the 90's. Although it's cool looking. I've never got to use it. It was always too big to bring in the cars. Here is all the information off the rod. 6. Hello, I need help finding a good reliable travel, pack, or telescopic rod(s). I plan on using it for trout, bass, crappie, etc. Something from 6'6" to 8', that breaks down to at least 3 pieces. A rod or rod/reel combo is fine. Spinning or casting rod. I prefer to keep the cost under $80. How are the ones offered by: Daiwa, Shakespeare, Quantum, Zebco, Eagle Claw, Mitchell, Berkley? Has anyone tried them? If so, ho'd they handle? Any major problems?
  7. I really would like to get more fishing in this season. But I need help finding the better spots. Are there any good spots I can fish from the bank? I've tried Grafton Lakes before, and it was ok. I'd like to try some spots with less or no boat activity. I prefer to stay in the Capital District area, mainly Rensselaer, Albany, Schenectady, and maybe Saratoga Counties. Where should I be checking? I'm up for all kinds of fishing: BASS, trout, panfish, catfish, etc. Thx,
  8. Just a few off the top of my head. 1. Cabela's 2. White Castle (need lifetime supplies) 3. Lipton Brisk Iced Tea (need lifetime supplies) 4. Shakespeare 5. Zebco 6. Plano 7. Sunsweet Plum Smart (need lifetime supplies)
  9. weather.com (The Weather Channel) I also check my local ABC, NBC, CBS affiliate websites.
  10. Will the polarized glasses even work over my Rx glasses with transition lenses? If the function of the polarized glasses wont work over my Rx glasses, why bother? All my Rx glasses have transition lenses. Will the polarized glasses do anything harmful to my Rx glasses? _________ I'd probably try the cocoons if they would work for me.
  11. I've been thinking about buying a pair of polarized glasses. But I don't know which to try, or even if would be worth the money. I wear Rx glasses for distance. The glasses I have are transition lenses. They block out the sunlight good. Are polarized glasses similar to transition lenses? If not which polarized glasses would work for me? When I don't wear my Rx glasses I wear aviator style sunglasses. So the polarized glasses need to be able to fit over my Rx glasses.
  12. It would definitely would be the Red Rocker Sammy Hagar!! Play a few shows at the Cabo Wabo Cantina, Las Vegas, and other venues. Relax with some Tequila. All the while I tell EVH to GTH!!!
  13. I've always cast with my left hand and reel with my right.
  14. In-line spinners, little cleo spoons, phobes, micro rat-L-traps, crawlers, all work well. Try to use baits no bigger than your little finger in streams / brooks. You can cast upstream and allow your bait to flow down to the trout. Also cast into whirlpools created by rocks. When you fish in lakes, ponds or rivers, you can use larger baits.
  15. Sadly I'm stuck fishing on the shore. I don't have access to a boat.
  16. Short answer, no. The long, I don't want to have anything to do with it. The last time I fished there it made me very sick, from smell alone. _______________________________________________________________________ Does anyone have some thoughts on the places I mentioned?
  17. I'm looking for some good fishing spots in and around Troy, NY. I have comprised of possible places to try. But I don't know how any of these places are. What are your thoughts on these spots? Albany, NY: Buckingham Lake Park Washington Lake Park Tivoli Lake Park Albany Pine Bush Preserve / Rensselaer Lake Troy, NY: Wright Lake & Bradley Lake (Frear Park) Burden Pond Ida Lake Tomhannock Reservoir Schenectady, NY: Iroquois Lake Riverside Park Front Street Park Gateway Landing Park Scotia / Glenville, NY Collins Lake Ballston, NY: Ballston Lake Grafton, NY Second Pond Shaver Pond Long Pond Mill Pond Dunham Reservoir Latham / Colonie, NY: Colonie Town Park Waterford, NY: Mohawk River I'm interested in fishing all species including bass at these spots. What are your experiences at these spots? Are they all public access? Do any of them require a special permit to fish, like the Tomhannock Reservoir has? Please tell me about these fishing sites. These are fishing spots I can get to easily. If you have other suggestions, you can add them later. If you could provide links to specific town regulations for each of these sites, that would help. I've tried many of the standard DEC, and local govt sites. But they didn't help me much. They mostly confused me.
