  1. I fished from a canoe, went threw the Canoe Kentucky Outfitters and did the six mile trip, we did the early morning trip i think we put in around nine and fished all day. They are very nice people and you can rent a canoe or kayak . Though i did pull over and fish the bank several times. Good Luck !!
  2. I fished the Elkhorn about a month ago , it was 80 something degrees and sunny, was catching 12 to 15 inch Smallies on a 1/4 oz jig bouncing off the bottom in the deep eddies, and a red crank bait in the shallower areas. I talked to other people and they were using buzz baits and 3 in grubs. Good luck and post some pics.
  3. Hey DG, Some lakes have boat rentals , (Bull Lock Pen, Kincaid Lake) If not do what i did. Bass fishing out of a canoe, did it for years, i even got a little trolling motor for it. It is a very inexpensive way of getting around lakes, rivers. Look on craigs list i see them on there for $200-300 all the time. Good luck finding the fish !!!!
  4. I personally never had much luck there, but i have'nt fished Cave Run in over 10 years. Im going down to fish it in the Fall, and someone told me I had to stop at Jerry"s bait shop.( i think its about 5 miles away from the lake) That might be a good place to call or stop by for some insight. Hope this helps ya, though I will be asking the same question in the fall.
  5. I live in Newport and just purchased a fishing boat (16 ft jon boat with a 6.9 hp motor), looking to start fishing more small tournaments or join a bass club. Does anyone know of any Bass clubs in the NKY or Cincinnati area that cater to Anglers with smaller boats or fish smaller lakes? Thank You, Stephen ?
