Sensitivity, Separating The Reality From The Propaganda
Unless you have money issues, there isn't a problem spending some cash on rods. It seems like nowadays you can spend right around $100 for all the rod you will need. Even some top pros are fishing with $100 rods and reels. Yeah, there is more sensitivity in the top of the line rods if you want (and can afford) to pay for it. I will admit that I can not feel a darn thing fishing with an Ugly Stik tough but if I could spend $30 and get the same feel out of my better rods then I probably would. I like to spend my money on baits more than rods, reels, and lines. Curse the bait monkey!

Lure Weight On Rod
Pretty much what quake is saying. Tie a feather to a string, close your eyes, let it fall. Will you be able to tell as easy when it hits the ground as lets say a rock? Of course not. I know this is an extreme example but there is a probably is a slight difference in what you are feeling on the bottom. Most likely 1/8 of an ounce won't make a noticable difference though.

Help Removing Side Plate Bearing Daiwa Hsta
You can also break a q-tip in half and use the hard end to pry it out.

Yet Another Help Me Post
I am sure you will like it. I don't know if you know this or not but St Croix's are a little underrated so the ML will fish more like a M. Good luck fishing!

Yet Another Help Me Post
I own a 6'6" M/F St Croix Premier Casting Rod. I love the cork on this rod, very smooth. I am using it as a jerkbait/topwater rod this year but It was great for squarebills last year. I am sure it can do almost anything effectively.

Need Some Line Advice.
Mono or Copoly on your jerkbait/topwater rod. I like P-Line C21 or Sunline Super Natural. I think braid will work on your Frog/Jig rod. I like flouro on anything that doesn't float or suspend because it will hurt the action you want.

Anyone Crank With Braid? No Leader
Might work for shallow cranks. I prefer fluorocarbon though.

Yet Another Help Me Post
Powell Max, Shimano Crucial, Abu Garcia Veritas, St Croix Premier, St Croix Rage. Lot's of options!

Yet Another Help Me Post
What technique specific (if any) rod are you looking for? I could name good rods in that price range all day with nothing to go off of.

Left handed vs right handed Baitcasters
No one can prove the other side wrong. It is all personal preference. I can switch hands way before the lure hits the water. RH reels are more availible and have no intention of switching to LH for that reason.

Mgx Handle On My Revo S?
This.
-
Lews Ss And Laser Mg Question
Nope, I only use the 2nd setting on the mag brakes.
-
St Croix Rage Or Micro Magic?
See if you can hold a Shimano Crucial while you are there. I and many others would take a crucial over the rage or duckett any day of the week.

Mgx Handle On My Revo S?
Or you could get the BPS Carbonlite handle for $30 which is almost the same as the MGX handle.

Generic Senkos
You're right, nothing compares to a weightless gycb senko in most situations. But what if the bass want a little different presentation and a slow sinking knock-off is the trick that day. Could prevent a skunk or win a tournament you never know. If you don't like paying for a gycb senko which are $8.49 at most places now then this might be a worthy alternative. You never know until you try it.
-
Generic Senkos
That's why he's asking if anyone has used them....
-
St Croix Rage Or Micro Magic?
If you like the full eva grip then I would pick the rage. If you haven't considered the new Shimano Crucial then I would give them a look. They have a 6'8" M and MH rod that I think will be better than both the rage and duckett for your needs. Good luck!

Crankbait Rod And Reel
If he wanted to keep saving, he could keep saving until he had enough for a Megabass rod if he wants the best option. Two powell maxs will cost him $280 while the two mojos will cost him $200. For $100 though I would look at the Abu Garcia Veritas, Shimano Compre, and the Lamiglass Excel. I have the 7'8" Mojo Glass rod which is a great deep crankbait rod for the money but I didn't like the other mojo rods. I do have a St Croix Premier that I like though.

Powerpro Super Slick
Quit quoting me! I haven't used the line and was just relaying the other things I have heard about it. This thread is about the new Power Pro Super Slick not the regular Power Pro by the way.

Curado - Cracked Brake Pin Housing
If you think these spools are expensive then you must never have seen a JDM spool. http://www.japantackle.com/Tuning_parts/tuning_spools_daiwa.htm

Crankbait Rod And Reel
I like to use 6'6"-7'0" MH/F rod for Shallow to Mid running cranks and a 7'8"MH/M rod for Deep Divers. I use a 6.2:1 reel for both of them. I like to burn my cranks and slow down if the fish aren't as active. I have heard some good things about the quantum smoke rod. I wouldn't use my crankbait rod as a jig or frog rod.
-
Sunline Reaction Fc
He's most likely used it since he gets all the good stuff early!
-
Sunline Reaction Fc
Good to know.
-
Powerpro Super Slick
Exactly my point, but guess what? It is more expensive than than others. I hate braided line and don't plan on using this line. Like I said, it is just what I have heard from others and posted it because no one else was responding at the time.
