Jig Style Suggestion
Yeah I didn't think it was going to be as thick until I saw the photo. A lot shallower than I assumed too. OP I fish a spot like that right off an island at my lake. I throw a KVD Squarebill in the pockets and rip it through the grass. Sometimes I get hung up but it attracts some nice bass.

Favorite Frog
I have caught some on the popper version of that.

Jig Style Suggestion
Have you tried wacky rigging or dropshoting in there? I wouldn't think they would get hung up.

Favorite Frog
Since it's frog season I want to know what everyone favorite frog to use is? Mine is the Scum Frog 5/16 oz. Caught a 4 pounder first cast with this thing.

Pond Baits
The only pond I fish is my uncles but when I do this Booyah Buzzbait is the ticket!

Here's the one I have.

Jig Style Suggestion
You could try a swim jig. I know Booyah makes a decent one that they sell at walmart. I've caught a few 3 pounders on it. It has a rattle and a weedguard. I like to put a tube as a trailer on it. I'm not sure this is the best solution but that's what I would do in the situation. They are only $2.99 so it's worth a try.

New Rod Advice
You're right I don't mention it was a combo, but I don't say I was talking about a rod either. I understand that you interpreted it wrong and a mature person would have replied, "Sorry, I misread your post." But you show no respect and try to make me look stupid just because you don't agree. I said that I personally think the reel should cost more, am I not entitled to my own opinion? I know you feel like you can say what you want since we're on the internet but geez no need to be anal.

What To Keep Caught Fish In?
Why are you guys so anal about him keeping his fish. He's not hurting the fisheries if he's following the legal limit. I know not all of you will agree with this practice but you should respect it or at least keep to yourself.

New Rod Advice
Maybe you should re read what I said. If the combo is in the $400 range I said I think the rod should be worth more. Both the combos you just mentioned are above $400 so I agree with them. Reels under $100 usually don't perform well or last. So what I'm saying is I would rather have a Revo S and a BPS Extreme over an Avid with a Shakespeare Axiom. You also failed to notice he wants a new spinning rod not a baitcasting combo. Next time maybe you should pay closer attention to what is posted before you rant on my advice.

Little Creeper Baby Trash Fish
Bought a pack of the 6" in Pearl White and pack of Gammy 6/0 Monster hooks 1/8oz. I sure hope they will work here.

Products That Exceed Your Expectations
1. BPS Extreme Rods 2. Seaguar Flurocarbon 3. Rage Tails 4. Shimano Sahara

Little Creeper Baby Trash Fish
Any idea how much they weigh?

Curado Gear Ratios
I'd stay with the e5 if you work em slow like you should be. It might not have enough spool capacity though. Plus your gonna need that power to pull in the lunkers that you get with swimbaits!

What setup do you throw the original one on?

Little Creeper Baby Trash Fish
Saw these just came out on *** and was thinking of giving them a try. Anybody have any luck on the regular size model? I am worried the Northern Pike up here will tear the crap out of these. I want to try out the Natural Hitch color. They look good for where I fish.

New Rod Advice
Those are all good rods you mentioned. No it's not crazy to have your reel worth more than your rod. I personally think the reel should be worth more until you get in the $400 range. Another $100 rod I like is the BPS Extreme. I have used it for plastics this year and it has performed higher than expected.

Long Term Storage
Well they will be worth more now than when you get back. If you sell your revo now you could probably buy two when you get back since the price will drop.

What To Keep Caught Fish In?
Try to find something like this

Long Term Storage
Why not sell them and have the money to get the newer advanced reels when you get back?

My New Personal Best....
Nice. I just started wacky rigging 2 weeks ago. It has caught me a lot of fish but they are all 1-3 pounders

Recommendation: $300-$400 Baitcasting Combo
You can get the Avid for $150 on Gander Mountain's Website with the $20 off code. (Just search for GM Coupon codes on google) It also has free shipping.

Swimbait Rod
Yeah, I exclusively fish from my kayak so it's hard to use rods longer than 7'. I'll just try fishing them on both rods and decide which one to use.
