  1. With the boat hauling vehicle in the shop I banked / waded fished yesterday and went old school with rooster tail and a beetle spin. Caught a one pound LM and a one pound SM which jumped three times.
  2. I'm in pictures maybe difficult but what the heck.
  3. Sorry try this instead www.mefishfinder.com
  4. I would expect some largemouth and smallmouth bass. Thoose dreded pickerel will bite ata moments notice, actually I dodn't mind catching them nice fight just a little slimey. Try a Rapala minnow, soft plastics and I like a Johnson Silver Minnow for the weeds. This website may help: http://www.mefishfinder.com/unity-pond-4656-location. Congrats dagar
  5. 7-14-2012 Seven Tree Pond Seven AM: Seven Tree Pond has a mirror like surface - no ripples, just the reflection of trees, a few clouds and my smiling mug staring back. The heat and humidy is taking a toll on me. As a transplanted southern boy, you would think I would enjoy the higher temperatures but the reality of 13 years in this beautiful state has left me less than able to truly enjoy the muggy, hot days. With me in the front of the canoe and the wife in the back, we make a small wake into the smooth watery surface. First cast - kerplunk - reel, reel, reel - nothing. Second cast - kerplunk - reel, reel, reel - nothing. This went on for the next two hours. Early in the morning my wife, Amy, said she wanted to use a rubber worm, since she's a bit of a crow, I gave her a blue/black with purple glitter worm. She liked the look of it a lot. The amount of weeds in the pond was just right for T-rigged fishing. I could not pull spinner bait or a jig and pig through the weeds, but the worm worked! She nailed a nice 2-1/2 pound largemouth. A few minutes later I catch a 10" largemouth - at least I didn't get skunked!~ I can last 4-5 hours in the canoe, before my rear is sore, but my wife, 3 hours. As the temperature nears 90 and no breeze in site, the humidity rising by the minute - we paddle our way to shore and rehydrated and return to the frigid AC of the car. Thanks for reading. dagrar
  6. I will have to do some research and start fishing swim jigs. Being I'm fishing from a canoe sometimes it is hard to fish a slow moving bait as the wind blows you around like crazy at times. I'm keeping an eye out on CL or a jon boat to mod.
  7. Last year after about a 20 year layoff from fishing I started back and realized just how much I missed it. For the first time this year ever I've been fishing with spinnerbaits. In the weeds no problem, in the lillies no problem, rolling on the bottom around rocks no problem. I believe I've found a bait I can love forever. PB today 5+lbs I'm happy!
  8. Fished Hobbs pond today landed a 5+lbs large today along with a 4 and two 3+pounders. I'm still suprised how well a 2lb pickerel fights. It was a good day.
  9. Down on the coast the bass seem to be in the shallows and the weeds are starting to grow. Hope this helps.
  10. I agree that the warm spring has the fish in the shallows and spawning maybe. Just got back from fishing this morning at Hobbs pond a 1.5 lb and a 2.5 lb largemouths but the best fight of the day came from a 20" Pickerel.
  11. They do taste good just a wee bit bony. Great fighters but then again I'm happy when anything hooks it's self to my lure.

  13. Hi everyone Recently I have got back into fishing after a 30 year layoff. I now remember why I liked it so much before and as a side benefit my wife likes to go as well. I 've been lurking on the forums for a while now I felt it was time to come out of the closet.
