  1. It sounds like you are throwing this bait with a 7'6" flippin stick. I had this same problem. The long handle on the rod makes it more difficult to cast "I am only 5'7". To check to see if this is your problem take your reel and put it on a 6'6" or a 7' rod and try casting the spro with it. If you get more distance I suggest buying a 7' Heavy rod for this presentation. It is what I had to do. The more comfortable rod handle length more than tripled my casting distance!
  2. I have been wondering where the best place to purchase rod blanks for bass rods would be. I want to start building my own rods! I'm just a little confused at where I should purchase the components. I will probably start with cheaper components until I have figured out the building process before moving up to the more expensive components. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  3. The number one thing is a sharp point. If the hook point is dull or bent it will not be as effective. Also if you can get away with it use a small diamater hook they are much easier to hammer home.
  4. I use a six inch pie pan filled with flour. I go outside and stand on a five gallon bucket and pitch to the pie pan. When you start hitting the target without the flour making a dust cloud, you can put your bait in the water without a ripple!
  5. Everyone is a professional at something. Being a professional means that there is one thing that you earn a majority of your income doing. If you are a greeter at wal-mart and make $15,000.00 a year and you fish local tournaments and win $15,001.00 in a years time you were a professional fisherman for that one year.
  6. Just like the good ol' days! That clip sure brings back alot of memories, of the old local bait shop that used to be near the lake. Young punk bought it out and turned it to a jet ski repair shop! :'(
  7. Someone give her another sponsorship! This is the most thought out resume I have ever seen! Think you could help me create a resume like this LOL. Very nice and hope it catches the eye of another top notch sponsor!
  8. According to my past logs my average in-state largemouth big bass is 6.5 pounds so thats my quess. I hope that I get over the 9lb in-state curse I have. I have boated five largemouth bass in-state that went over 8 pounds but I can't get over that hump. Smallmouth bass my yearly in-state big bass average is 4 pounds so there you go on that one. Spotted bass I am lucky to catch one a year in-state. Of course the out of state trips to Table Rock, Kentucky Lake, Reel Foot, Sam Rayburn, and Guntersville could bring anything. My dream big bass year, Largemouth 10+ pounds, Smallmouth 7+ pounds, Spotted bass 6+ pounds, this includes the out of state trips, so it is possible.
  9. Does this mean if a member delete's thier self that they can't come back on the site? If so can they come back under the same profile?
  10. No don't buy a new trolling motor! I would bet that the connection on the trolling motor "where it plugs in @ the front of the boat has been knocked loose and your ground and hot wires are touching" unscrew that plug in and pull it out if this has happened you will only need to rewire it and start fishing!
  11. I have a motorguide "cable" I do use the constant on feature. Makes it really nice when you are fishing visiable cover. Also think that by using it you don't spook as many fish, because the motor isn't kicking on and off all the time. Since I started using the constant on feature I have noticed that by back does not hurt as much at the end of the day, because I don't have to keep my foot on the pedal as often, more comfort, less pain, and more fish it is the way to go!
