  1. 20 foot cranking will wear you out quick if you don't have the right reel and rod set up .Ask me how I know I ended up buying a setup just for deep cranking only. Make sure of that first before deciding what lure selection and type. Any tYpe of deep diving crank can produce . I tend to stay away from too much flash in clear lakes. In clear lakes I use a natural matte color koppers in the 1 ounce or heavier deep diving crank . I will go as heavy as 2 ounces. I fish big baits .
  2. I really hate these scammers. Thank you for the information. At least now I won't build my hopes up at work today.
  3. I have emailed him and waiting for a response. I hope to go look at it this Sunday. Never heard of a cabelas edition before Ranger boat . This would be my first glass boat. Right now I have a 14 foot Grizzly Tracker with a 9.9 but would like to upgrade to a nicer boat. The boat is fine but sometimes during windy days it pushes it around too much. http://newhaven.crai...3079214215.html
  4. I have looked at transom mountand I find 13G02 under those are the numbers 188149 When I took the cowl cover off there is a silver plug that has the number R8525872 On the shaft it has 330507D2 I went to the evinrude parts site and none of those numbers match up in a search for model number. It says on the help page that it's mostl letters . There is nothing more I could find on the motor. Looked at it with a flashlight and cleaned it up. I bought it used and the guy said he wasn't sure of the year. He said it might be an 1989 I'm trying to buy an owners manual and a few parts for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jim
  5. 95 to 100 out in the sun is too d**n hot to fish but if you have to deep diving cranks. Spool some 10 pound fluoro and get some cranks that dive from 15 to 20 feet. It sounds like it's a small lake you fish so covering it won't be hard.
  6. Koppers live target natural matte or gloss . Pumpking seed , bluegill , perch , baby bass, crawfish It mostly doesn't matter which one I use for cranking , they all catch fish. They are really nice crankbaits.
  7. There are a lot of people here with much more experience than I . My suggestion is learn how to catch midday bass and add deep cranking to your arsenal. A lot of bass fisherman think fishing shallows morning and late afternoon is the best fishing. That's not always the case. You can pull out some monsters deep cranking in 15 to 18 feet of water. And night fish , can't tell how many bass boats I see going back to the launch when I'm just getting ready to launch in the evening. Some lakes it's just me and only a couple of other boats on the water. Or just me alone.. Start fishing at night.
  8. I have only fished with 2 Both are koppers live targets. One is the perch crank and the other is the crawfish. The bass have been slaming the perch, I caught a couple only on the crawfish.
  9. You're not kidding about it being tiring. I fished today from 4:00pm to about 8:30. I had to take a few breaks in between. I think I'm hooked on it though. I almost don't want to use my worm rods anymore. I realize though conditions and bites change.
  10. Hi to all. I have been reading this forum for a while now and decided to say Hi and thanks for all the good info and posts by it's members. I have been a soft plastic fisherman most of my life. This year I decided to get into crankbaits and also deep water cranking. I don't know if it's just good luck but I have caught more numbers of big bass than ever before. I also caught large bass with plastics but also caught a lot of small ones, with the occasional 4 or 5 pounder. This past 2 weeks I have done nothing except deep water cranking with a koppers live target perch ., over a 6" bait with lip I bought a 7' 10 " rod and a quantum tour kvd 5.3:1 bait caster. And I haven't caught anything on this under 2 pounds. Most were between 2 to 4 pounds and a couple of 5 or better. Is this luck for 2 weeks straight? Or does deep water cranking with large crank baits produce big fish? Thanks
