Nice pics! Those are some hawgs, for sure.. I've fished the lake the past 2 Saturdays and caught nothing over 2 lbs lol. I threw just bout everything to. Spinner, crank baits and topwater is all I can catch them on. This past Saturday was so windy the southside was a mud puddle in a lot of areas. The water being as high as it is allowed me to go deeper in the reeds to find cleaner water but no big bites.

2 weeks in a row, sweet! I usually do good around the two bridges. Have you ever drove to the end of the levy, over the pump station and used the make shift ramp to the right? I think it would be considered the east side of big cypress. I I haven't been out there in a while but the bite seemed to be always on and usually your the only boat. I noticed they finally opened the new boat ramp on the alley (past the gas station) the last time I drove across it. You ever go there yet?

The Ida/Osborne chain is the furthest north I ever caught them to. Palm beach county in general is considered extreme north for them. They can't handle cold very good at all. I wouldn't expect to find them any further then you do now, ever. Every few years S. Fl gets some good cold fronts and they die off real bad up there, Even the Iguanas die up there.

So how did it go on Saturday? What ramp was the tournament out of? I'm dying to get out there and throw some topwater..

Yes, you need a orange flag when accessing the flats. I believe it has to be on 10ft pole also. I made one from an old ATV flag and PVC pipe. It's 1in pvc so it does bend a lil but it does the job.

Lox is short for Loxahatchee Preserve. Most on here use the boat ramps at the end of Lox rd, which is on the border of Palm beach and Broward county.

As far as I know, there isn't a lake around the ft. lauderdale airport that holds P's. Actually, I don't think there is any body of water within city limits that has P's. The closest city to the airport to fish for them would probably be in the miramar, pembroke pines area..
