While Fishing A River, What Would Be The First Place You Would Attack?
There is an eddie that is right by the boat launch. Its a 2 minute walk for me to get there. My uncle Steve always told me thats the place to focus and his words were exactly what you just replied with. Thank you for the info. Also , should I focus on that spot the most?

While Fishing A River, What Would Be The First Place You Would Attack?
Scenario, Have to fish from shore or you can choose to wade in the river since its shallow enough. You do not have a boat. River is about 2-4 feet in most areas. In the middle of the river where you are fishing you have 3 sand bars that are surrounded by tall grass on the edges of them. You have a small dam that drops off about a foot and goes over rocks of course. This river has a very sandy bottom and lots of rocks. What would you use for bait?

Buzz Baits... Do They Work?
I love it. I actually don't have a problem with having it stay on top of the water, its just the initial timing when it hits the water that I am working on becoming better at. If you are not paying attention with the open face, you can easily screw up on the timing. But if I focus I usually don't have a problem with it. Its just when you get distracted. For example if someone is talking while you are casting. I would think that a baitcaster would make fishing with buzzbaits easier? Am I correct?

Buzz Baits... Do They Work?
I'm using a Medium heavy Lews Speed stick Rod with a Lews Reel. Currently I have 8 pound bionic Walleye line on it. Here is a link to the reel I am using. Its the one on the top and the model is a TSS3000........ http://www.lews.com/spinning-reels.htm

Buzz Baits... Do They Work?
I picked up a booyah in white last week. Been using it but not much luck. Key is that you must start reeling them in right at the very second it hits the water. If you let it sink, you need to bring your line in and start over. I am gonna put my buzzbait away though till I get a nice baitcaster. Casting with an open face will cause you to lose a lot of fish in my opinion.

Dealing With Shallow Water When Fishing.
The river I fish (Kankakee in Illinois) is so shallow right now. On average its 2-3 feet deep in most spots. Its very frustrating because its hard to find any deep holes. Anyone have any advice on what I should do? Maybe just go fish another place for the time being?

What Would Be The Reason That A Jitterbug Would Work One Day And Not The Next?
So how do you fish a jitterbug? Do you just use little jerks and making it move a few inches every 20-30 seconds? Thanks for the help

What Would Be The Reason That A Jitterbug Would Work One Day And Not The Next?
So I went out two mornings ago. Red and white Jitterbug was working great and got some really good hits. Then I got out the next morning , and nothing went after it. Then I went out last night and again, nothing was hitting it! Last evening I fished a nice lake in NW Indiana that is known for bass. This was confusing the heck out of myself that the jitterbug was not getting any strikes. What should I have switched over to ? I am a beginner so I am doing my best to learn these things. Anyone have any advice?

How Common Is For An Area To Be Hot One Day, And Dead The Next?
I got a question for you guys, since you are more experienced than I am on this. How common is it for a fishing spot to be hot one day, and dead the next? For example, yesterday morning, I had strikes left and right at this one spot. This morning, nothing at all at the same spot. It was strange to me really.

Best Smallmouth Fishing In Illinois
Fall is approaching. Where should I go to catch some smallies? I live in the Kankakee area and the river for the most part right now is very shallow. I want to find some good lakes to fish. I've been out by Willow Slough near Indiana. Anyone ever fish there?

Bait Monkey Powers Almost Too Powerful
I just started fishing about 4 months ago at a serious level. Bought myself a Lews rod and reel yesterday and I am biased towards the Northland fishing tackle company. Bought about $150 dollars worth of their lures so far. Everything from Mimic Minnows, to Fire Ball jigs and their spinner bait collection along with Jawbreaker spoons.

Best Techniques To Retrieve Lures.
I am curious on this. What is the best way to retrieve a fishing lure. For example do you retrieve it in one direction or do you change your direction when bringing the lure back to the boat? Also when it comes to jerks, how many do you use at a time? Whats the best way to fish spinnerbaits? Retrieve and then pause technique correct?
