My personal boat is Pungo old. My sister recently bought a Wilderness Systems Commander. I have been fishing Merrimack River from Concord to the mouth of River in Newburyport. I helped my sister with her purchase she was looking at Native watercraft 2 person and the Commander. She decided on Commander because it was smaller and easier to handle getting off car. I have fished with it 3 times now great fishing kayak. Tracks well, extremely stable, has rail system for some nice fishing attachments and you can stand and fish I great advantage. Really like this kayak I am thinking about getting one myself I would even consider outfitting with bass yaks foot control electric motor.

Nice fish and in the city a lot of these small ponds or rivers get little attention. I am new member and been fishing my local river which gets very little fishing pressure but holds some great fish. I do most of my fishing from kayak also let me get to fishing areas with even less pressure. I have been out a few times this year see attached picts. I fish mostly by myself so picts were from my iPhone not easy taking picts. Hope you enjoy.

Yes it is Merrimac been fishing it for over 35 years. I have fished from Concord NH all the way to the mouth of river in Newburyport. I love exploring new places in river out today just walking the banks at low tide lowing for structure to fish. Water temp has dropped quite a bit with cold weather looks like fish have retreated into the deep holes.

I went out last weekend for first time to local river. I could not resist stopping by for few casts river is exactly five minutes from my business. Caught some more nice river smallmouth. I love fishing river fish are so strong they are destroying my spinner baits. I can't wait for getting in kayak to really fish these waters.

Hi got a chance to go out fishing local river this weekend. Did not have much time so I went to a few places from shore. I caught a total of 15 smallmouth bass and one pike in about 3 hours. I was amazed at size of fish I have attached a few pictures. I used my iPhone and was fishing by myself so did the best I could . I am having trouble getting picts to post hjsmyth

I was using large spinner bait. Also was using oversize pike skinners no with no weight. It was funny that I was catching fish about 8 feet from shore and at one point I could see that they were feeding on large school of minnows coming out of creek. Went out today spinner bait only for about 1hour and got 8 more smallmouths and one northern Pike. I caught two of smallmouth were even larger. I will post some picts later.

Hi everyone first day this year to my favorite river. I normally fish from kayak but today only had 2 hours so I went to spot on shore. I have in past gotten my personal best smallmouth which weighted in at 6.4oz from this river. Today I know I got much larger fish did not have scale and was fishing by myself but I did take some picts. I used my iPhone to take picts just starting to use for recording my trips since I release all fish. I pulled all fish from one deep hole leading into large stream running under the road. They were feed on skinners and at first I thought they were carp because of their large size. I got a mix of males and females I believe bulking up for spawn. Here are some picts any suggestions by fellow fisherman about how to get good photos when you are by yourself. I got a total of 12 bass from hole what a way to start the season.

I am fishing my local river which is running very fast and high. I have been having a lot of break offs with large smallmouth. I am fishing 8 pound test P-line with fluorocarbon coating. I fish mainly with large spinner baits and tubes and also believe that I am losing fish because of knots letting go also.I was out tonight with kayak and lost quite a bit of tackle. I have been using trilene knot for years just starting to use polamar knots . Also smallmouth were schooling and feeding on surface tonight could not get them to hit my top water topedo what other suggestions. I could not see what that were feeding on but they were very active taking something from surface. Fishing has been great large fish seem to be very active. I am having great time fishing river again after long time without fishing due to wrist problem and working lots of hours.

The fishing has been very good I have been fishing the Merrimac River. Water is high, fast and murky but the fish are feeding. I have been out from kayak and also from shore about 7 times last two weeks caught some nice smallmouth. I am hoping to go out tomorrow with friend to float section of river. I tried loading some picts of fish but files were to large.
