  1. UPDATE: I got the Curado K two weeks ago and I couldn't be happier, it is a joy to cast, and it's also smoother ( i got the K in the low gear ratio), the DC are not for me (at least the IDC4 version, I wanna try the other more advanced ones), Thanks and have a great day!
  2. Hi there! ciao from Italy! I'm trying to buy CorrosionX grease and TSI-321 oil to service my reels, but the shipping prices are crazy (23$ for a 4$ item) I'm looking for someone kind enough to send me a little sample of both (don't need much of either), I'll pay for shipping obviously, Thank you and ciao!!
  3. Got a Curado DC, hated it, sent it back and got a regular Curado K...the IDC4 sucks (my opinion, others seem to love it)
  4. Sorry, I knew how to adjust the reel, and tried every possible combination of brakes and spool tension, I didn't like it for the reasons I explained, mostly i didn't like the feel of the reel during the cast... of course this is only my opinion, didn't say it's a bad reel or anything
  5. I sold it yesterday! Oh, I live in Italy by the way... Ciao
  6. Yup, using braid, I fished it for a couple of weeks...tried everything, from very loose spool tension to tight, and I have some experience with baitcasters... 20+ years... As I said there were no issues in distance with heavy lures (although it was no much better than some other reels I had)... The best I can describe the feeling I had while casting is "disconnected"; I really enjoy a very fast free spinning spool on the verge of exploding in the worst backlash ever I didn't mean to post a bashing review on a popular reel, just the impression I got, maybe I'm just too old school and I love "analog" brakes

  8. About 7-15 grams (1/4oz to 1/2), but the bad thing for me was not the actual distance, it was average to very good on heavier lures, it was the feeling of the spool being heavy, slow and overbraked... that's my opinion though, i like feeling the spool spin fast and free, this was not the case, even on setting n.1 it was a strange feeling...I guess DC reels are not for me...
  9. Hi everyone, I wanted to share my impressions on the Curado DC (and the IDC4 system), never tried a DC reel before First, the good: the reel is very comfortable and very smooth (not as smooth as my Tatula SV, but it's a lower gear ratio, that helps) The bad: I don't like the feeling when casting, the spool is super heavy and you can feel how slow it is to speed up, I like the glitchy digital sound though The very bad: the adjustability is poor, setting n.2 was overbraked and casting short, setting n.1 was too free and super easy to backlash even with heavy lures and a very tight spool tension, the reel needs a 1.5 setting I have now ordered a Curado K, I loved the ergonomics of the DC, and the K is even more compact, I want to try a Scorpion with the IDC5, the reviews say it's a lot better braking system, Have a great day

  11. Thanks for the suggestions, I saw larger ones, at least double the dink I caught, but not really big ones... I ordered a cheap whopper plopper knockoff just to give it a try and a couple of little hollow frogs, I'll order the original one too... Also, can i use ewg 2/0 hooks for giving dropshot a try? Or they're just too big? I'm filling tacklewarehouse cart, I'm ordering dropshot hooks, roboworms, zoom finesse worms and weights... Do you have suggestions on the DS rig?
  12. Thanks, there's small shad, some crawfish and little perch...I'll try a jerkbait and dropshot next time, fingers crossed
  13. Water temp is a around 60/65 max, here it's fall but oddly hot (26 degrees/79 F), it feels like the bottom is muddy with some rocks, water is fairly clear... I tossed every lure i had around structures like that bush, submerged branches and lily pads but no fun yet!
  14. Hi everybody, I'm from Italy and I wanted to give a shot to bass fishing (love seeing all the crazy videos on youtube), I found a lake half an hour away (which supposedly held some bass) from me so I went there and and started throwing every lure I had near the lily pads and structure, I tried senkos (4" YUM dingers and 5" wacky and texas rigged), crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits and finally a small paddletail on a 5g jighead (2.75" or 7cm) and got this monster) I also walked around the lake and saw some sligthly bigger bass, like double the size of this one but they just did't seem to care at what I was throwing at them...at the end of the day all I got was the baby bass in the picture and a micro perch... what do you suggest? I was really frustrated...and btw, after reading this forum about the senko and its universally recognised status of "best bait for bass ever" I was kinda disappointed, it didn't get their attention at all, I worked it as it's supposed to, just letting it fall to the bottom and jerking it up and letting it fall again, really slow ( I've also ordered the original yamamoto, should get them soon) Thanks for your help! ciao from northern Italy!
  15. Thanks!!! Yes, my MAIN hobby Just for reference if anybody is going to run into the same issue here's a picture of the screw that holds the side plate:
  16. Nevermind, found a retaining flathead screw that was on the other side...
  17. Hi, I wanted to open my curado (bought used last year) for maintenance but I can't open it, I removed the handle and the three screws but is seems locked in this area, every other people on youtube just removes the three screws and it comes apart...any suggestions ? thanks for your help
