Looking for a good fishing kayak
My wife and I are looking for a kayak for each of us. We are in our late 40's. She is 5'3" 120lbs and I am 5'9 175lbs. We will use it for exploring and fishing around the sounds and marshes up and down the North Carolina coast as well as fresh water lakes and rivers. We are not planning to run the rapids. We keep hearing pros and cons on Sit on Top and Sit -In Kayaks and someone mentioned a hybrid. We really do not know how much they cost but would like to keep the cost as low as possible and not break the bank. I know nothing about kayaks or kayaking. Could someone make some good recommendations on a good fishing kayak. Thanks

bank fisherman....
I take 7 rods each loaded with for different applications along with my tackle boxes. If I am close to the truck I work out of it. If I need to hike around I fill a backpack with the lures I think I need based on conditions. I carry a 6'6" medium spinning rod with 8 lb test and a 6'6" medium heavy baitcating rod loaded with 14 lb test. Sometimes I will just take the spinning rig if I am climbing through alot of brush. These handle most of the situations I came across. In fact if I ever had to choose just 2 set-ups they would be it. Good luck

Blue Bird Skies/Warm Weather Fishing?
What are the best tactics for catch bass when the skies are perfectly clear, the water is calm, and the air temperature is in the 80s. It seems like conditions like this are the hardest for me to catch fish. By the way I do have to fish from the shore.

Need suggestions for a yard sale rod.
I picked a 10 dollar rod at a yard sale today. It is a 6'6"MH Pinnacle Millenia baitcasting rod with a moderate to fast action. I have never heard of it before. It is rated for 10 -17 lb line and 3/16- 1oz lure. It is in excellent shape and I was thinking of having it as an extra when I take a friend fishing. I am looking for a low budget reel to put on it say from wally world. Does anyone have a good suggestions. While my intentions for it is a multi-purpose rod what would be the best use for this rod? Topwater, spinnerbait, etc? Thanks for any advice.

Looking into water distorting the size of bass.
When veiwing a bass from above the water how much does it distort the true size of a fish. I saw alot of the fish in the water I caught today and they appeared much bigger in the water than out? I am just curious. I am a bank fisherman and I rarely see the fish until after I caught them. Today was a nice exception. I was able to target most of the fish I caught. The only thing that worked was a watermelon Senko.

The only color I have ever used is black. I throw it as it is getting dark on weedlines or near structure and crank it back slow and steady. I love its sound.

Fishing after rain?
How would you go about fishing the day after it has rained 1/4 to 1/2 inch with the high being around 56 degrees and partly cloudy with windy conditons. I fish from shore. I within driving distance from a river that has smallies and a lake that contains bass and may try to fish them tomorrow.

Ugly Stick- I just don't get it.
I think it is a good affordable rod for those who are first getting into fishing or those who fish once or twice a year while on vacation. I see alot being bought up when the tourist come around. It was my first rod when I was a little guy. Believe me I needed something indestructable as hard as I was on it. It double as a sword for some battles with my buddies. The only Shakespeare product I use now is their TigerStiks. The are great for saltwater and catfishing.
