I see 5'6" pistol grip bait casting rods for sale but I have never seen anyone use one or talk about them. My question is do you use one and if so when do you use it and what kind of lure do you throw with it?

I am new to using tubes. I came across a picture when texas rigging a tube that looked like the hook was left exposed inside the tube. Is that the corrct way to rig it or should insert the hook into the inside wall of the tube. Thanks for any help.
