  1. If you are referring to the 200E, they are retiring that frame and body, at least in the USDM. At the classic they are releasing the Zodias rods, Aldebaran 50, and jackall gantarel, who knows what else. If there was a new citica coming out, I'm sure it would have been leaked by now.
  2. The new Aldebaran is listed at TW. Feb 19.
  3. Its the same with car salesman, most don't know anything substantial about whatever car they are selling. Luckily with the internet buyers can research and be a lot more savy.
  4. The SS is based off the Steez frame, its different than the Pixy\alphas frame.
  5. Why not get 1 or each of the models on that list.
  6. Shimano Japan came out with a slightly shallower spool for the Chronarch. Its only about 1 gram lighter than stock.
  7. Yep, they killed it again just like last year. Lots of new rods as well.
  8. I cant remember where I saw it but there was a thread about a guy who I believe scuba dived with an underwater camera and took underwater pics of a trout stocking area a day or so before the stocking. The bass were staging around the dump sight and a lot of big bass at that. When the trout were released he got a lot of shots of bass chasing and eating the trout, and a big bass even eating a catfish. It was good stuff.
  9. Core name might go away altogether. They are selling USDM reels in Japan now, first was the Chronarch Ci4, now the curado. Seems redundant since they have the scorpion.
  10. Yep I bought a couple of sets of Hedgehogs and they came with a note saying there is no need to flush and came pre oiled. Just install and go.
  11. American Shad and Chrome LC Pointers produce the most for me.
  12. The Calais DC is usdm. The other 2 are JDM.
  13. Got these 3 over the holidays
  14. While its not necessary to buy expensive jerkbaits to catch fish, it may affect the numbers you catch. One weekend I lost 4 Jackall Squad Minnows getting hung up in cover. So instead of spending another 60 on more Jackalls I started looking at other ones on TW. Ordered several in the 5-9 dollar range. I rarely catch fish on them. Example, I ordered 3 Baker Lures jerk baits. I threw all three for about an hour. I managed 1 bite. So I tied on an LC Pointer, caught 8 fish. The action on the pointer was more erratic and the finish(American Shad) was definitely a step above. Id rather catch fish than spend money on a lure that doesn't.
  15. It looks like its going to have a metal frame of some sort. My guess is magnesium since the weight is so low.
  16. Only on the short spool shafts, long spool shaft Daiwas don't have a double bearing pinion.
  17. Yep, another monster year from Shimano!
  18. Personally I don't see any performance gains to be had from a free floating spool. But the Elite 8 also has their version of it called Infini. I would choose the Elite based on palming, weight, and the spool weighs only 10.6 grams so the casting range is going to be superior to the Zillion. I think Daiwa dropped the ball by using the Tatula as the base for the Zillion, they should have came out with a new design from the ground up. Throw in the fact that the Elite 8 can be had for $240 from Japan, that would seal the deal for my money. I don't think you will go wrong with either though.
  19. The double bearing pinion on the zillion is not going to give the same effect as the Xship in Shimanos due to the short spool shaft. In fact I think most Daiwas with their free floating spool have had double bearing pinions, probably out of necessity since the spool shaft does not pass through the pinion like on Shimanos therefore does not aid in support.
  20. Looks like they went the Doyo route.
  21. Just as any other lure, its the shape and density of the 1/8th lure that's going to determine its ultimate distance.
  22. Theres a difference between casting 1/8th oz and casting 1/8th oz for distance and accuracy. I was able to cast a 1/8th drop shot weight with my Aldebaran BFS on a 6'9 Volkey UL about 110 ft. Now throw on a 1/8 oz rapala ultra light minnow Id be lucky to get 60-70 ft due to the aerodynamics and density. That being said, the Revo LT is gonna eat all others in the 200 or less range and even some more expensive BFS reels. Its basically an aluminum framed LTX/LTZ. Same superlight shallow spool that weights 8.2 grams. Order from Japan today, you should get it by next weekend. $176 plus shipping, should put you right at $200.
  23. For that price range and those weights the revo Lt would be the best
