  1. Today's top times: 9:30-11:30am, 4-5pm.
  2. OK, you guys are really boring me. I have not been fishing for like 2 1/2 weeks, and was hoping to see some nice pictures, funny videos, or interesting conversations. Somebody needs to entertain me please!
  3. Spinnerbaits, spooks, jerkbaits, traps.
  4. Today's top times: 9-11am, 3:30-4:30pm, and 9-11pm. Good luck.
  5. You need to find protected water out of the wind and chop. The fish will be waiting there.
  6. Spend the money and get something decent. Those rods are under rated, they are very good for the money. Comparable to some $100 rods IMO. Spinning or casting?
  7. You would think that if they aint fishin they would be at least BS'in, lol.
  8. Even a cop gets lucky and hits the target every once in a while, lol. Good stuff man.
  9. Today's top times: 8-10am, 2:30-3:30pm, 8:30-10:30pm. Good luck.
  10. Don't worry, mine told me "don't even think about it". She doesn't have much of a clue about the Type-R, except that she thinks I ordered it a year ago, lol.
  11. I will tell you this, if you buy a rod you might be OK. If you buy a reel, its all over. I can not be held responsible for what happens after that, and don't blame it on me to your wife either.
  12. I will let you in on a little secret. There is not much difference between the Clarus and the Compre. I am actually going to mount my Tatula on a M XF Clarus rod. If its the color you are after, then go for it. The guides of the Compre and Clarus are nicer and smoother IMO compared to the Carbonlite.
  13. The Carbonlite is a nice rod. A 7' MH F might be a good sweet spot for that. The Compre is a nice rod, not that tip heavy. Honestly, once you are fishing with the rod and reel, that tip heavy crap means nothing.
  14. It fit the bill for the perfect reel for it with its mag brake system. Its not the caster that I thought it would be, but im spoiled with my Shimanos. So, lets try the Type-R. With the "supposed" casting ability of this reel, and the fast retrieve speed, it should be really good for bank fishing. Spooled with 10# YoZuri, it should cast just about any bait quite a distance.
  15. Its on my Dobyns 705 rod for pitching baits with braid.
  16. That is a really good looking reel you got there! I hope it serve you well, even though you should have bought a Shimano, lol.
  17. I actually haven't posted any fish. Hopefully Sunday something bites. Going out with my camera man! lol
  18. Bro, I am dying over here not being able to fish much this month. I got about 2 hours Sunday morning of time in, but didn't catch much. It's hard when I don't have a bank beater setup anymore. (Where is my Tatula Type-R?)
  19. I guess there has not been much action this past week for you guys (and girl). We got: AK with a 21" on a black frog Lou got himself a 17.5" on a Koppers Frog Mutt got a few. A 20" on a white fluke. Also, a 21", 20 1/2", and 17" on a KVD Sexy Dawg Looks like this week went to the topwater section. Things to look for this month: Topwater baits are most likely going to dominate the bite. With all the windy conditions we have been having lately, the bait fish are going to be pushed into the shallows for cover, and that's where the Bass are going to be looking. During this month the Bass are going to be staging and looking for areas to make their beds. The bulls are still schooling around, but the females are preparing for their yearly routine to breed. Food is still on their mind, but they are going to be looking for easy pickings, like injured fish or animals. Spooks, frogs, and flukes are among the better baits of choice. They are able to be paused, jerked, and walked. The fact that they can be worked really slow will allow for the females to pick them off. For the times of the day where they will be diving a little deeper to get out of the heat, you will have a little more success with the Jig and Worm type baits. Don't forget about the spinnerbait either, they are great with a good wind that puts a chop on the water. If you happen to come upon a mat of vegetation, don't hesitate to punch through it. Usually it will be a game of "king of the hill" with Bass to hold under a mat. It is prime shelter and ambush post. It is easier to get the bait through the mat for them to bite than to have them chase something from underneath it. If you don't have heavy duty sticks and gear, you better jump on that during the Black Friday sales. A solid reel with a good braking system, a Heavy power rod, and 50-80# braid are going to be needed. 1-1 1/2oz tungsten weights and some good pitching baits like Brush Hogs, Ugly Otters, Why Nots, Flappin Daddys, etc. So while you guys are out there, take a look around. What do you see? Do you see any beds being made yet? Do you notice any weird patterns? Its gonna be tough now with the stupid time change, but this is the prime time to get the morning bite on. Sun is out at 0600, and the fish will be biting. Good luck.
  20. Today's top times:7:30-9:30am, 2-3pm, and 7:30-9:30pm. Good luck.
