Thank You Delaware Valley Tackle!
I still dont belive this guy exists. I think its just a computer that puts posts every once-in-a-while. Seriously though, hes got some great advice, and if I ever need a reel repaired (and since I take very good care of my equipment, I dont think Im gonna need it anytime soon) I will be sure to use him. Hats off to you, you have a good thing going Mike.

Need Help Setting The Hook On Bass!!!! / Missed Hook Set
When a bass takes a worm or soft plastic bait, they take the bait. In my experience, when I fish my soft plastics (which is most of the time), when I feel that distinct bass bite, reel in a bit and feel that its got a good hold by just pulling the rod enough to feel it tug back, then cross that fishes eyes with the hook set. This has never failed me. The small little quick tug tug tug, is uually an bluegill/bream. Even the small bass dont bite like that, they still have that distinct tug, its just not that strong. When I fish soft plastics its usually a 6" Zoom Lizard, with a 3/0 EWG hook. Even that setup, I can still hook a bass that is only 8" long. When bass want something, they will inhale that thing, you just have to feel it. Where are you fishing? I dont see your area location.

Anyone Want To Help The Newbs??? Frogs...
you pop the rod as if you were fishing a topwater plug. Pretty much that is what the frog is, a holoow weedless plug. Pop the rod tip a couple of quick pops, then let the frog sit a second. Then pop a couple times, then let it sit. Just remember, frogs in the wild dont swim fast in the water. They kind of scoot a bit then sit. Its when that frog sits, that bass is gonna nail it. Also they like to trap the prey, so keep it close to cover.

Anyone Want To Help The Newbs??? Frogs...
Get the frog at the edge of the grass and with a slow cadence, bring it through some lilly pads or whatever cover there is. When the fish strikes, you have to give it a second before you set the hook. Alot of the time the fish will miss the frog and it will just throw it. Its a pain to fish, but it takes patience.

Would You Go In?
I dove in the Everglades to get my phone. After paying $100 for another one, I should have let the thing sink and reported it stolen to get a new one free. FML.

Lexington, South Carolina
Going to a wedding with my wife up there. She told me there are going to be a few days that Im going to need to entertain myself. No problem. One of her friends boyfriends is gonna bring some fishing gear too. So, anybody can give me a few good lakes/canals in the area to fish? No boat. Just gonna be driving around in the rental car. Also, any specific baits that work well up there? Going for bass, what else is there to fish for as well?

New Curado Vs. Old Curado
Yeah, its hard to beat that E series. They were what the old Bantam greenies were. Gonna be one of those collectible reels. If you get your hands on some, take good care of them.

Is Buying A Spooling Station Worth It?
Never used one. Just lay the spool on the ground, and pinch the line between my fingers as its reeled in. Halfway give a spray of L&L, then finish reeling in the rest. Never had a problem for 15 years. Spend your money on better stuff.

How Light Of A Line On A Bc?
Ok then, try the YoZuri. This stuff holds up very well. The 12# has a breaking strength of 20#

How Light Of A Line On A Bc?
Ive never gone lighter than 12# Yozuri myself, and thats on my 50E for light baits. My other reels have 20# Yozuri, and 65# Spiderwire. As for your frog rod, you should be at a 7.1 reel to horse those fish out of the cover. Anyway you go about it, make sure you have enough b@11z to keep the fish from beating you.

New Bps Signature Reel And Rod
I cant tell you how to stay away from BPS, because I have the disease too. My wife has accepted the fact, and understands (sometimes). I think they should have meetings for people like us, but they should be out on the water. Just like hootie, its a collection thing. I have different reels for different things. You will see that some people prefer to use the same kind of reel so that they have a very good understanding of how they perform. Me on the other hand, I have an assortment of different reels, each with their own personality, and each used for different fishing styles. Have a good time, and enjoy the relaxing days out on the water.

Got An Idea Of How My Stringers Are Made
There really isnt that much glass holding the wood in, in fact, the only glass I noticed was the layer they put over the flooring. Im gonna cut into it more and see how they secured the wood to the hull.
-
Got An Idea Of How My Stringers Are Made
It looks like my stringers were made by having plywood style walls, then filled with foam, and then topped with plywood. As I poked a hole in one of the stringers to see if they were solid wood, come to find out that they are filled with foam. Now since theres three of them, I need to figure out how am I going to replace the rotted sections, and what kind of foam do I need. Going to start ripping the floor apart Monday.

Looks Like Its Gonna Be A Complete Gut-Out
Riser hull, yes. When I called Check Mate, they said I have a rare bird, and they want pictures. They said they will also be able to replicate the original decals for me. Im not going to be doing the painting. I have a few people that are in mind to do that once im done with the flooring/glassing. Im not going to be putting that very sparkley paint like most bass boats. I want a dark grey bottom with a light grey top, similar to a car style paint. A nice red pinstripe around it, and some dark grey carpet. Im not a "sparkle" kind of guy, lol.
