Favorite Drop Shot Lure
Can't go wrong with Roboworm. The Zoom finesse worms are pretty good. My buddy likes the Big Bite Bait Shaking Squirrel, but I can't say for myself. I haven't tried those yet. Nice thing about all 3 brands is they are pretty cheap so once you find a couple colors you like you can buy a bunch of em with out breaking the bank!!

Questions For The Jig Makers!
I am hoping to put in an order for a couple of my favorite skirt colors and some skirt rings this week. Im pretty pumped about this. I think it could be the start of a great new hobby! Hopefully by next winter I will be pouring my own jigs.

Drop Shot Rod...
I agree with Hooligan about the Crucial Drop Shot. I've got one and they are awesome rods! I prefer the 7'2 ML XF. It's super sensitive, I feel more light hits on this rod than I've ever felt on my other drop shot rods. The Crucial is awesome!

Best Knot With 10-15# Flourocarbon???
I've never had any issues with the palomar knot. If you tie it right, its got amazing strength. I use it on 6 pound fluoro for drop shotting all the way to the up to the heavy braid I throw my frogs on. Just like J Franco said, you need to be sure moisten the knot. I think thats where most people go wrong when tying the palomar.

Lews Speed Spool
I haven't flipped with mine, I've primarily used them for cranking. This past season I caught several pike (by accident) that went 10+ pounds and 1 that went 15 and the Speed Spools dominated those pike! Made quick business of em! I would assume they would do just fine for some flipping. They've handled everything I've ever used them for flawlessly!

Lews Speed Spool
I bought 2 of the Lew's Speed Spools last spring, I have a 6:4:1 and a 5:4:1. They are awesome! I really like them a lot. For a reel under $100, they are a good quality reel. I'm not an Ardent fan, they seem/feel cheap to me. You will definitely be glad you made the switch. The Speed Spool is an awesome reel. You won't be disappointed!

Basspro Rods And Reels
I've never used BPS reels personally, but I know a couple guys who use the Johnny Morris CarbonLite, Johnny Morris Signature Series, and the Johnny Morris Carbon Black Bass reels and they really like those. I'm not sure who makes them, but it sounds like the Johnny Morris reels are pretty solid, quality reels.

Fishing Shows Return Finally!
I started golfing a lot once I got out of high school. I had never done any golfing other than mini golf before my graduation. So pretty much, I sucked! Im like Jigfisherman, if Im going to do something Im not very good at, Im going to practice as much as possible. So I got to thinking, playing 18 holes 2 or 3 times a week was pretty darn expensive. I figured that money could buy me a pretty darn nice bass boat. Then I got to thinking about all the lost balls, new clubs, broken clubs, broken tees, food and beverages at the coarse I could update all the gear and tackle I already had and actually have some good stuff. So I bought a boat and a bunch of new gear!! Best decision I ever made!

Questions For The Jig Makers!
I am really starting to think right now I am better off buying the style jigs I want and do my own skirts. I really want to paint my own jigs, but I can buy jigs that are unfinished and paint them up. I thought pouring my own jigs would be a fun hobby for the winter months, but for right now, I think Im going to stick to tying and customize my own skirts.

Ok So I Need Some Help Here
I would go with the boat. Picking up a small boat with all that gear for $300 is a steal! Getting new rods and reels is always awesome, but fishing from shore you are kinda limited in what you can do. A small boat opens up all kinds of possibilities!

Carrot Gold Stix Spinning Rod
Ok. I have been looking for a decent drop shot rod that won't break the bank. I found this 8ft medium light for 50% off. I thought it could be a good rod, but I've never used a Carrot Stix spinning rod and didn't want to go into this purchase blindly. Thanks for the info!

Help Build Me A Crankin Setup!
I agree with Bass Junkie and Packard about using your Revo SX and put some extra money towards your cranking rod. I am a Quantum guy, so I would suggest buying a KVD Tour 7ft or 7'4 medium action rod. I fish crank baits about 90% of the time and these rods are great. I love them! They perform very well and they are pretty sharp looking! Again I will also agree with Bass Junkie on the Duckett rod, those are awesome rods too. If I didn't have KVD rods I would have a bunch of Duckett crankin' rods. I use 10 pound Vicious Fluorocarbon for cranking. depending where Im at I upgrade to 12, but the majority of the time I'm throwing 10 pound. Vicious is nice because its affordable on any budget. Most places you can get 250 yards for $10. Its strong line but sensitive enough to feel light hits. I use Vicious for everything but my spro frogs.

Carrot Gold Stix Spinning Rod
I am considering buying a Carrot Gold Stix 8ft medium light spinning rod to use as my drop shot rod. I am curious to know if anyone out there has used any of these rods and what they think of them. Are they sensitive enough to use as a good drop shot rod?

Protecting Your Gear
I agree with D.V.T. when my rods are at home I have them hanging vertically. I also take my reels off my rods in the off season. I don't have a reel bag to put them in, but I clean them up and put them back in their original boxes. I don't know if taking the reels off the rods makes a difference or not, but thats what I've always done since I've been buying higher quality gear. When my rods are in my boat or my truck, I have Rod Gloves on my rods to keep them protected. I noticed rods get to bouncing around really easily in the back of my truck and in my rod box. I can't imagine how much damage could happen to my rods if I didn't have those Rod Gloves on them. They really make a huge difference.
