Looking at the Dirty Jigs Swimbait head for 3-5" soft swimbaits, really like the wire keepers on them. Anyone know what size hooks are on these in the 3/16 and 1/4 oz sizes? Any other jig head recommendations with wire keepers for these size swimbaits? I'm thinking a 3/0 or 4/0 would be about right for the intended sizes, planning on throwing some ripple shads and flatback shads.

Anyone have issues using 20# Power pro on a baitcaster? Wondering if I need to step up to 30# to avoid the line digging in. Love 20# on spinning setups.

Some like them, some don't, gonna try it out this year. For topwater I use PP 6/20, what is a good leader match and #? Figure some mono in the 12# range should work?

Been using 12# Sunline Super Natural for the last year or so on the recommendation of the guys here. Can't say enough good things about it.

I've used a lot of decent rods over the years. There's a lot of good options out there but 'm having a hard time replacing my Denali's. I have 4 Rosewoods and they are really awesome. I would compare the Rosewoods more to the Dobyns Champion line from what I remember, which I had for a good while, but that's just my opinion.

Would Yo-Zuri Hybrid 4# be the way to go with the smaller sized reel? Going to be using a size 30 Pflueger Supreme. I did try it on a spinning reel a few years back and had some issues...... however, I think that was 8lb and may have been way to 'big' for 1500 series sized Shimano spinning reel.

I'm stepping up my river fishing this year. Just got a new Dobyns 682SF, going to pair with a Pflueger Supreme 8230MGX spinning reel. What would be a good line for my setup, using mostly 1/8-1/4 baits (tubes, craws etc)?? Heard good things about Sunline Shooter and Sniper, not sure if these are worth the price. I have used PP 20/6 with Fluoro leader in the past with my M spinning setup. Just want to see what others prefer for river fishing. Thanks.

Thanks for advice. I guess I'll buy a few spools from the mentioned brands and give them a try. I think I'll get some braid as well. Any recommendations? I've used Fireline and Power Pro in the past.

Hey guys, Hoping to get some advice on line preferences for the following setups. These are both for BC reels. - 7' M/M - crankbait and spinnerbait (1/4 - 5/8) - considering Yo Zuri Hybrid 12# - 6'6" M/F - jerkbait and topwater (1/4 - 3/4) - considering Sunline or CXX 12# I fish in water with toothy critters, would using braid be benefical or does it even matter? I've used braid exclusively in the past but am know thinking of moving away from it and trying to get the best line for the gear and lures. I know some like individual setups but this is what I'm going to use until I save up for more gear! Thanks.
