I was going to head out to lake wissota sometime in the next couple weeks and was wondering where the best place to look for smallmouths this time of year? Are they in the shallows or is it better to look for them in deeper water.

I have been catching a few fish with bloody tails which ive always thought means they are on there beds. I guess what im confused about is that ive caught them on topwater frogs and i thought they wouldnt hit topwater baits while on there beds. Is there another reason why there tail would be bloody like that, or i am wrong about biting topwater baits while on there beds. thanks

Thanks for the pic. Do all lakes have creek channels running through them? Also with they always look like that on a contour map or will they not always be so obvious when looking at a contour map?

How do you find creek channels in lakes? I read a lot of articles on how these are great spots to find bass but im not really sure what to look for on Contour maps or on a depth finder. If someone could upload a contour map with what one looks like that would be great. Thanks for all the help

For the locking type how do you attach it to the fish?

I just recently got into tournament fishing and have a question about culling tags. Are they harmful to the fish? I was thinking about getting a set to use in my next tournaments but didnt want to if it risks killing one of the fish. Thanks

I caught 2 keepers that weighed 3-11 and i took 85th place which i was happy with for my tournament. I drew a really good boater and it was a great first tournament. Excited for the next one on June 16th.

How did they catch him? Do they inspect all the fish caught in a tournament?

Fishing jigs at various depths, drop shot, jerkbaits

The only time ive ever used a grub was as a jig trailer and it works really well. Also roboworms make really good shakey head worms.

Have to go with a manns stone jig with a roboworm kickin craw for a trailer

Im sure other companies do too but roboworm makes a drop shot shad like bait called the alive shad i believe. I bought some but havent tried them yet.
