  1. Just finished out tourney... Hubby caught limit in the first cpl of hrs. Took me a bit longer. Lost the first one right next to the boat. Hooked another one next cast and caught my second shortly after :-) Hubby came in 3rd and I got first loser! I will take that any day!!! Only female to place in the money. We were the only boat where we both caught limit! Now time to prep for the next! So psyched and hopefully got all the nerves out :-)
  2. Well there is only a 2 fish limit... so hopefully I will catch that. The lake I hv fished the most is 72 sq miles and on Monday the temp was still only 50deg. The lake we r fishing on Saturday is 18sq miles.... BIG difference there!
  3. So after a very frustrating start to the season heading out on Saturday for the first tournament of the year. Little nervous as I haven't been able to catch more than one bass each time I've gone out. The weather has really messed up the fish I think. Last year did team format with my husband, worked well. If he had a bad day I had a good one and vice versa. This year we are fishing draw... I sure hope that I can show that I can catch more than one fish... Fishing a much smaller lake than what I'm use to, which I hope will turn out to be a good thing. Smaller lakes warm up faster... right? Warmer water hopefully mean they aren't so deep and hopefully are a little hungry... Nervous and psyched at the same time!
  4. Been tough on winni. Went out Monday... forty islands and round. Caught a trout... no bass though. And the lake liked my cell so much it decided to keep it. Good luck to u! Fishing a tourney on Mascoma Saturday.
  5. Nice! We r headed out again tomorrow hoping to actually catch something prior to our first tourney so we can get some sort of plan in place. This crazy temperature changes have certainly messed up the fishes patterns... hoping they get back on track in the next two weeks!!!
  6. I always fish from the back of the boat, except when the hubby needs to re-tie or switch out his gear. Granted I fish w my husband, but for the most part I keep quiet and let him drive. I feel very out of sorts when I am up front. I usually try to fish off the back or the opposite side that he is fishing. Some days he does better and some days I do... We tend to throw different baits or colors unless one of us has a ton of luck. I luv just sitting back and fishing and letting him worry about where to fish!
  7. It was cold and windy today! Got nothing at all! Got blown all over the place. Tried just about every method I know... Very frustrating day.
  8. I set up my own using the Carolina keeper which we get at bps... works well for us. Fished the c-rig most of the season last year!
  9. We are going our Saturday too. Not sure where we are launching from yet. Good luck!
  10. Fish a cpl of tourneys out of there last yr. Went out of Glendale Saturday. Fished weirs area. Cant wait to get out this weekend. We r hoping to have more time and scout some more of the lake!
  11. Went out yesterday for the first time of the season. Slow day but beautiful water! Got my first smallie of the season and got to play w the new hds unit too! All in all a productive day! Can't wait to get out again! Luv pulling those fighters into the boat! Anyone else has luck on Lake Winnipesaukee yet?
  12. Just took the quiz... fingers crossed I get something useful!
  13. I get psyched when I get a bite! Even more psyched when I take it off the hook! I know when my hubby gets a bite, can tell by the way he shuffles his feet and I spin right around and watch in awe... (He's a much better fisherman than I.)
  14. Every tourney gets better, even if it is a bad day for you. My first tourney sucked! Next two brought in a bigger bag than the tourney before! 2nd to last tourney last yr I got nothing but some bites and one gullet hook, the hubby placed 3rd though. Last tourney nothing at all, which realistically was ok cuz it was cold and raining. Went home early but ready to do it all over again this year, the good days and the bad ones. Very addicting hobby for me! Get out there have a blast and learn something new each time!
