  1. Another vote for the tatula rod
  2. 10-15lb braid, 6-8lb flouroclear leaders should work great...
  3. Think im gonna get her out for a bit today...
  4. Are you swinging the fish in the boat ? Id try a fenwick smallie/aetos, daiwa tatula, powell endurance/max...
  5. Out of 30+ shimano reels, ive only bought one that didnt feel right and it got sent back. Was an older model symetre 500 for ultralight. While turning the handle it seemed like it would bind up and get hard to turn. The 2500/3000 saharas seem to be bulletproof, very smooth reels...
  6. i remember the first time using it and thinking this is the best line ive ever used.... Then after a few trips i started losing baits and fish. Went right back to 10lb pp and sufix for my spinning gear...
  7. lol, sufix and power pro work great for me and its half the price...
  8. Ive used almost everything and im a braid nut. My favorite is sufix performance braid. Second to that would be power pro and kanzen.
  9. 6-8lb pline flouroclear is all I use, great stuff...
  10. The m/h veritas is like a broomstick. To throw lighter baits, you need a nice medium action rod, thinner line, and lots of practice
  11. I have a nice crucial crankin rod in the for sale section.
  12. At $100 I'd go with a tatula, or a used curado d
  13. What weight cranks ?
  14. As a spinning reel junky that converted to almost all baitcasting reels, I bought a new Stella fe and ended up selling it. Awesome reel, but since I don't use them much anymore I decided to stick with my ci4+ I agree with aavery2, you get one shot at it, go with what you can afford and enjoy it...
  15. I find myself constantly buying and trying stuff out, then selling it, losing money and months later buying it again, lol. I have 10 rods & 6 reels at the moment, ive worked so hard to get my freshwater gear ready that i completely forgot about my saltwater setups. Was really hoping to save up a little money for a proper surf combo and bay setup, oh well.....
  16. Well i have huge hands and didnt like the size of the new chronarch, which is pretty much the same as the metanium. I use the shimano 50 size reels for everything. Feels so much better in hand. I dont think your moving back in tech, a core or aldebaran will suit your needs fine.
  17. 7ft Cumara heavy medium fast crankin rod, aldebaran mg 5:8, Sufix Seige 12lb mono
  18. Shimano Conquest 51 & Shimano Cumulus 6'10
  19. I was taught 7, i usually do anywhere from 6-8.
