For me, nothing beats a Senko, but I recently got turned on to the "trick stick" from Big Bite Baits over the summer and never looked back. You can't beat 2.99 for a pack of 10, and they are strait up dirty. Worth checking out http://www.***.com/Big_Bite_Bait_Trick_Stick_10pk/descpage-BBBTRST.html

Jigs: Rattle Vs No Rattle?
I really appreciate the insight. I think that you all have a good point with a rattle in dirty water and a more subtle approach in clear.

Jigs: Rattle Vs No Rattle?
I have been hooked on jig fishing for quite a while now, whether it is flipping docks, cover, or just swimming a jig through the grass. I have noticed that through out this year's pre-spawn, I caught the majority of my jig fish on a jig with rattles. I'm a big believer of fishing in the moment and letting the fish tell you what they want to bite, but could some one provide an explanation or condition when or when not to use a rattle?

Diascund Reservoir
I appreciate the site Kaotic, I'll definately check it out. I'm thinking I might just have to wing it. The bathymetry looks crazy with sand bars and shallow spots in the middle of the lake. I will be throwing alot of search lures lol.

Diascund Reservoir
Hi everyone, I found this forum and never left lol. I think what the members do here is fantastic and invaluable to the fishing community. I felt so strongly about it that I made a profile and am here to stay Now for my question: I frequent alot of lakes and reservoirs between Richmond and VA Beach, but for whatever reason I have never fished Diascund. My friend and I are planning a trip soon and wondered if anyone had suggestions on which parts of the lake are more successful. I'm just trying to eliminate water, 1000 acres with just a trolling motor could make for an interesting day. Thanks for the help! -Jack

New To The Richmond Area
Hey man and welcome, Since your boat is at home, I would start with places that rent boats like Ed Allen's on Chick Lake. Off the top of my head I think Waller Mill in Williamsburg, Newport News Res, and Lake Maury do as well. Check the VDGIF website and get out there bud! -Jack
