  1. 5 new extremes 743 744 745 795
  2. Hammered the redfish today! Atleast 40 boated! Hitting the Big O tomorrow hopefully the winds die down.
  3. Headed there tuesdayyyyy whooop whooop !!
  4. +1 for the Dobyns DX784 ML. It has got to be the best deep water football jig rod I've ever used, another one to look at is the DX744 4" shorter if you prefer that, a little more versitle stick, doubles as a t-rig/ pitching jigs rod,it also has a little bit softer tip compared to the 784. Both rods would be more then enough in what your looking for
  5. I'm heading out next tuesday! should be a nice change from all the snow we have up here!
  6. The main reason I love the dual cast braking control on my Lew's Tournament Pro's. You dial it in just perfect to toss weightless baits a mile, wind, rain, snow this reel can take a beating and it still casts like the first day I bought it.
  7. Xpeditor Service (which is not a warranty but folks seem to think it is) - Moving from $50 to $100 charge - is only good for "inline production rods. Excludes discounted models, all blanks..." - is now a one time per rod offer only applicable to the original purchase item Rods not covered by the Xpeditor program will be subject to the standing limited warranty New NRX Rods will have a "Wild Card". Basically once you buy the rod, you send in a registration and copy of receipt. Shimano sends you a "wild card". If the NRX ever breaks, you take in the broken rod and card to an authorized NRX retailer and they exchange for a new one. Only good one time. Only redeemable on retail and cannot be sent in to Loomis. Cannot be substituted for a different model.
  8. You like the loomis warranty? In my eyes there are way better warranties out there, Dobyns $60 no hassle. Most Shimano dealers offer over the counter. Ever since Loomis has changed there warranty, now being $100 and you ship it to them, unless you plan on getting a NRX then the wildcard program comes into play with a free one time replacement, no questions asked. With $400 you may be able to find one of the previous model rods under your price range. I would be trying to find a SJR 783. Something else to look at would be a Dobyns dx743SF coming in at $329, you can find it even cheaper if you put in some work and make a few calls. Wonderful thing is the $60 no hassle replacement policy.
  9. Dobyns 743/Core 50 Dobyns 744/Lew;s TP Dobyns 745/Lews TP Dobyns 795 Flip/ Core 100MG7
  10. Throw a punching rig, heavy weights 1oz+, punch skirt, straight shank hook, craw of your choice, heavy line 65lb-80lb braid, and a heavy stick rated for atleast 1oz+. I use a Dobyns dx795 flip for this technique, paired with a Curado 201dhsv.
  11. So long story short I scored a Shimano deal through work. And I can pick up any 2 reels/rods & 2 spools of PP of my choice at a discounted price. Obviously first choice would be the new Cumara's. I just rounded out my casting rods with 5 new Dobyns Extremes. My spinning setups really need some work as I only have one as of now,7'2" ML Fast Cumara/Ci4. I've been looking alot at two setups. 6'8" MH fast for skipping tubes/senkos under docks. Which could also pull double duty as a tube jig rod for smallies. The 2nd is another dropshot setup, 6'8" Medium X-fast. Would be used for drop shot, shakey heads. Two reels would be another Ci4 and a Sustain So if you had a chance to pick any two shimano rods/reels what would it be? Price is no object. What techniques would you opt for?
  12. I find the new GLX's to be extremely tip heavy. Although Loomis has done a good job updating this rod, I really didn't like the fore grip on it and it probably would have balanced better without it. I almost regret selling my previous model GLX's, good thing my Dobyns keep me happy
  13. All you need is three? Tell me how you would go about fishing heavy grass/cover with any of those choices?
  14. 743-14lb fluoro 744-18lb fluro 745-20lb fluro
  15. +1 it's all about showing said sponsor what you can do for them. It all starts with you the angler. If you believe in a product, use it regularly the sponsor should already know who you are just from you promoting it on your own, when I really find something that works for me I want to share that with others so they can do the same. When looking for looking for a sponsor you want them to already know who you are even before they start reading what I have sent them inquiring about teaming up. Brad
  16. Pretty much all of the Shimano line have the life time warranty.. Starting from the convergence all the way to the cumara. The only line that carries they're lower 1 year warranty is the Sellus & below. A easy way to tell is if the paper on the handle, Green= limited life time, Blue= one year.
  17. there are alot of choice! but one of my favorites has got to be my Stradic Ci4/ Cumara drop shot rod combo. It's like they were made for eachother <3
  18. Leaders are not just used for visibility, the main reason i use a leader (either mono or fluoro) tied to my braid is to provide some kind of shock absorber. the x-fast rods they have out these days, paired with braid there is no give, and beileve me something is going to give. ive seen way to many guys snap rods and tear big holes in mouths that has resulted in lost fish from using straight braid
  19. I work at a big local tackle retail store and we have tons of broken veritas come in each year, atleast 15+ every summer, no wonder people bash them!
  20. No slop in rivers? Must be something wrong with you lads, ill take a river over a lake any day
  21. 4 dobyns extremes... Me and the monkey have gotten close!
  22. Better add a dx795 to that list, pulled the trigger on one today... Oops!
