Best Beginner Baitcaster Braid?
Im very happy with my suffix 832, and i know how it is to be on a tight budget, but if you go cheap the first time, you'll end up losing more money, time, and fish. If you get some good stuff you wont have to worry about all those problems, if you have to wait a little bit to get it, then do it, its worth saving yourself the frustration.

Alright so i have decided on a Quantum Tour Swindle Rod for my Topwater Jerkbait rod, now i just need a reel. I havent decided on if i want the 6'6 MF or 7' ML/F Iv considered a few different reels, and please not, I reel lefty. Thanks in advance for the help:) Shimano Citica 200G 6.5:1 $129 Lews Speed Spool 6.4:1 $99 Quantum Accurist PT 7.0:1 $99 Okuma Citrix 7.3:1 $119 Note: I have no experience with any of these reels, and i just tried to cover different brands at this price range, all feedback id apreciated, even on which model rod to get with the reel. Open to all suggestions.

Fly Rod And Reel.
To go along with my previous post, i like to fish larger fish with lighter rods, 8 weight is probably your best bet.

Question For Braid Users
I've used both braid and mono for popping, and i have to say i like the stretch of the mono for the hook set, keeps the treble from tearing out and i always seem to get a nice solid hook set.

Exactly, and they have a ton of different options for the combo.

Fly Rod And Reel.
For what you wanna do id get a 6 or 7 weight, They are big enough to throw most bass flies, they can handle any size bass, and are small enough for good presentations for trout. If you need to use it for steelhead, just fight the fish, and play it safe when bringing it in. I got a 6 weight as my first rod to to my bass. panfish and trout fishing and im happy with it.

Final Decisions.

I am only like 5'8" though, so i think i might be better off with the 6'6" model.

Braided Line, Fluro, Mono?
For what your fishing i dont think a leader is that important, i only use a leader on braid lines if im using my UL for trout spinners, you shouldnt have any trouble with bass or walleye.

Final Decisions.
If i were to get the Quantum, which model?

Fly Rod And Reel.
The problem i found with the dogwood canyon reel is that it is extremely heavy, and i havent handled that rod, but for that price, i would suggest a Redington Pursuit, love the rod, and has a great warranty too. For a reel at that price, maybe try a White River Hobbs Creek, or aTFO Prism. I think both would be a better option for your money. I know the Prism is a step up, but i got mine on sale for $40 and i am very happy with it. http://www.basspro.com/Redington-Pursuit-Fly-Rods/product/12010505012210/358643 http://www.basspro.com/Hobbs-Creek-Large-Arbor-Fly-Reels-or-Spare-Spools/product/44558/90104 http://www.basspro.com/Temple-Fork-Outfitters-Prism-Cast-Large-Arbor-Fly-Reels/product/10200644/125656

Final Decisions.
Ok, so those of you that have helped me out, have narrowed down what i want, a new jerkbait setup that i can do a few other things with too. Now i just need to narrow down the rod and pair it with a reel. around 100 for the rod, and maybe a little more for the reel. Heres the ideas i have currently. Quantum Elite Swindle Cast Rod- 6'6 M/F or 7' ML/F $100 at TW St. Croix Mojo Cast Rod 6'8" Med XFast $100 Shimano Sellus Casting Rod 6'8" Medium/Fast The reason i chose these is because they are on TW and i have a Gift Card for their sight, although i will consider all options, as for a reel, i was thinking any of the clearance revo's, but tell me what you think, and give me your ideal combo for this price.

New Rod Advice
From what i have heard, if you want the moderate action, get a MH/MF rod, around 7', if you want the extra fast action, Get a M/XF around 6'10".

Crank/topwater Rod
Do you like the St.Croix enough to pay more for it than the Shimano?

What Do You Prefer For A Jerkbait Rod?
I have heard two different things when it comes to fishing jerkbaits. Some like a Mf action, and some like a fast action, which do you prefer and why?
