Ok, so i have a huge giftcard for amazon.com, and want to get some my first spool of Yo Zuri Hybrid. But they only offer the nornal stuff, not the ultra soft. Can i get away with regular Yo Zuri in #6 on my spinning gear, or should i wait and get the ultra soft. Thanks.

Yeah I don't have that much to spend. Thanks for the help though guys. I'm an avid fly tier but I'm just not in the position to dish that much out for a vise.

I fish lakes rivers and small streams. So I don't know. Can you have a small anchor on a kayak?

Okay. I was thinking sit on. I don't like the idea of being stuck in the kayak. And 10' or 12'?

For the kyak what model what you recomend? I would get an ascend, the $500 models. But which one? Length? Sit on or in?

So skeletor is that a vote for the kayak?

I have one that's about 7 years old athat I still use and itsheld up great. I was happy enough with that one to buy another one last season for a cheap ultra light setup and one for my dad for fathers day. For the price its a nice rod.

I know there's probably a few fly tiers like myself on here. Plus I know some of you use them for doing jigs. What is your favorite vise for around $100?

Ok, so I trun 16 on friday, and my dad is taking me to BPS to spend $100 on whatever I want. I don't really need a new rod or reel, I just got one last week. So what are your suggestions of things I should get? Here's some of my ideas -New griffin spider vise -Put the money towards saving up for an angler kyak -Waders -New tackle Bag But that's the issue, I don't really know what to get. What are some good things to have that you wouldn't usually spend your money on?

I agree, my Medium Fast sticks have served me well when it comes to what your looking for. Marty is exactly right. Some would argue MH would be better, but for weightless plastics i suggest Medium power.

I have noticed a difference in each price range of spinning reels, lately i have been spending a little more on each reel. I had a Pflueger trion and a Shimano Sienna, which weren't bad, the Shimano was better. Then to the Pflueger President, which was much better than the previous two, and now the Shimano Sahara, which is fantastic. For a guy that only uses spinning gear, i think spending the money on a nicer reel is worth it.

I dont know if i want to fish braid or not.

Maybe i will try it in the 8#. Do you think it will need conditioner?

St. Croix Triumph w/ Shimano Sahara TFO Hawgleg w/ White River Osprey

I swear by Shimano when it comes to my reels. I have never had any mechanical issues, whether it was on the high or low end of the price spectrum. They are also built with high standards and durability. I just got my Sahara and i like the fact that you are able to add washers to adjust line management on the spool, depending on what line you are using.

I would love to try Nanofill.. but i have heard such awful things about it. Great for casting. But awful for actually fishing.

Its as smooth as butter my friend. Im a shimano fan when it comes to reels. I like the colors with the rod and reel together. With the rod trade in it cost me $160 total. And thanks.

Just thought i would show off what i just picked up at Bass Pro today. And i was wondering your opinion on what to spool it with, i mostly finesse fish. I got a 6'6 St.Croix Triumph ML Fast action, with a Shimano Sahara 2500FE. I love the set up, what do you think?

I was looking at taking advantage of the promotion too, i would have to wait to buy reels and id have only rods, but its a hell of a deal.

I tried this braid and didnt care for it much, it seemed to me that the fibers came apart very easy and it was a little rough. I liked my suffix 832 and PP better.
