  1. Myself and a couple buddies are going to fish the Allegheny River up around Tionesta PA for a couple days. Has anyone hit the river lately? Any tips on what they're hitting on? Looks like a front is going to roll into town with us. No rain until Sunday. We're fishing Friday and Saturday. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  2. I am fishing the little miami river in the cincinnati area. I caught two today with the advice from everyone. a very healthy 1.5 pounder and a 2.75 pounder to boot.
  3. Thanks for all the awesome info everyone. I will be trying out all these tactics over the next few weeks. I only live a few minutes from the river. Thanks again for the help.
  4. I've been fishing a shallow river in southern Ohio and have not been able to consistently get bit. Does anyone have any favorite rigs and or baits for this type of situation. It is pretty rocky in most places. I have talked to a few guys who run light jig with a grub, not sure what I'm missing.
  5. Excellent colors! They all look awesome! Have you thrown any of them yet?
  6. Thanks for the reply! I am fishing from a canoe and don't have any electronics yet. I'll see if I can get a more detailed map. Thanks again for the advice.
  7. A local lake, is very deep and is said to have both smallies and large mouth. I haven't heard very many people talk about having good success up there, except for crappie and other pan fish. I looked at a map today and it is 110 feet deep in the deepest portion. It also has large areas that range from 20-60 feet deep. How deep with the smallies go? Would a drop shot or jig be my best option? Water temp. is 61 right now. There tends to be a lot of boat traffic in the summer. Thanks for any advice.
  8. Those are great looking fish! Had to be a ton of fun. What depth water were you in with the tubes versus the jerk bait?
  9. It seems like they've started. I live in the Cincinnati area and fish the little miami river pretty frequently. The largemouth's are sitting on beds in the area lakes and with as warm as it has been I have to think the smallies have started as well.
  10. Great looking fish! Congrats on breaking your PB's!
  11. yes please post a pic, looking for ideas to keep the rig on the lighter side. Bought one to mess around with to try something new.
  12. Have you seen what the bass are feeding on naturally? Maybe start with something close to that? Some natural craw colors might work as well, especially because the craws are out now with the water warming.
