  1. I had both. A few times i still felt tension but i guess the hook didnt set. Other times a smaller fish would explain the lack of tension
  2. I ended up getting the Trilene XL Line in 10 lbs today because i am fishing tonight. Would this line be a good mono or should i order some Yo zuri and use the Trilene until the Zuri gets here??
  3. Hm good to know! I have been toying with the idea of just getting what is at my local walmart. They have power pro and suffix 832,which i hear are both good lines. But for my set up I am unsure?
  4. I think i am going to take a serious look at the yo zuri. I dont get why anyone would get 3-50lb line for largemouth bass??
  5. I don't see where the information is on the rod
  6. I was hoping for a ton of answers Lol. I was not for sure if the fact it was a spinning head mattered or not?
  7. I am looking to upgrade my line from "stock" line that came on the reel to something that is perfect for my rod/reel combo. I have a 6'6" Genesis rod and a spinning reel. Cheapo from walmart but thats what i am, cheap I will mostly be using it for large mouth bass so i figure 20lbs max? Or 20 could be too high.Mostly soft plastics and spinner baits. I am way WAY behind in fishing lines so i am unsure of what is best about braided and mono and whatever else. I THINK a braided line on spinning tackle would be okay? Right now at this moment,I am trying to master the soft plastic of the senko and yum dinger! Any help in line selection would be awesome!
  8. I am honestly unsure what line i am using. The stuff that came pre spooled on the rod when i bought it. It is just a cheap Genesis rod and reel combo from wal mart. 6'6" i think. I have been researching the sweep method of hook setting and plan to try that out!
  9. Well this was my first "texas rig/senko" encounter. I had really been wanting to try this deadly combo out. I am unsure if they were pan fish or not. A few fish "took" the senko a few feet before i tried to set the hook and still nothing...
  10. I started out where i lightly put the hook under the "skin" of the back and thats what i caught the 2 on. After getting frustrated i "tex posed" as you stated. Most of the time the senko head would be level with the hook instead of up at the eye of the hook upon retrieval.
  11. Thats what this hook is, is a Gamakatsu 3/0 EWG hook. And you are correct about the action rod and line test. I will have to look into wacky rigging with an O ring. I think i was not pointing the rod tip toward the bass... Lol
  12. Forgot to mention weightless!
  13. I am not so familiar with the texas style of rigging but it seems very affective. The trouble is that i cant seem to get the hook set down at all! I caught 2 fish last night but if i would have properly set the hook, easily 20. I was using a 3/0 EWG hook and a 5" senko on a spinning reel. I would feel a bite and the fish take it and then i would swing for the fences. Nothing. Any help at all would be appreciated!!
