Large Spinnerbaits ..
Do you think 3/4 oz willow leaf spinnerbaits are too much strain no a Daiwa Zillion 1000 TW? ...are these reels considered finesse? Thanks.

Got my Zillion today!
Got my zillion today. I must say this reel is very impressive! Do you think 30lb braid is a good line for this reel? Funny story..I showed this reel to my 82 year old father whom never buys any new equipment, he still uses 2 Mitchell 300's and a 308 they are easily 60 years old. So anyhow, I show him the reel, first thing he says is "is that a toy"? LOL!! He messes with it for a few minutes and mumbled "woman's reel" LOL!!

Anyone remember the Scorpion 1000 4x4?
I think I did ok on it. It sure doesn't appear to have ever been used..i.e not sign of being mounted on a rod...and no line. The dust on the box was another clue, lol Thanks for the replies, Joe.

Anyone remember the Scorpion 1000 4x4?
I found one NIB at an estate sale. I don't really remember them but it looks to be older judging by the paperwork inside. Anyone know when they were made, are they any good? Took a chance and paid 50 bucks for it. Tried to post photo but no luck, Thanks.

JDM questions..
I am new to the JDM so please bear with me, Is JDM always cheaper than the US Market? Who is the best JDM to deal with IYO. I'm I right in assuming that the current prices are unusually great and won't last? Thanks, Joe.

JDM questions...
Just some food for thought, as a kind of joke, I bought a weedless frog lure at walmart earlier this year for 1.99. Well, I have tallied 27 bass on that frog this summer...

Paypal and JDM purchases
I think if it arrives damaged you would be covered under paypal protection. Repairs needed later down the road probably leaves you on your own.

Paypal and JDM purchases
That's wonderful but obviously we are not all experiencing a smooth transaction like that. I got out the calculator and did some math....Paypal definitely used an exchange rate from a couple of weeks ago...bunch of bandits...

Paypal and JDM purchases
Watch out, because I just nearly got scammed ordering from Digitaka...I want to be clear that DIGITAKA had NOTHING to do with the attempted scam. When I attempted to use my Credit Card I was directed by a third party apparently with a fake Bank Of America looking link that wanted additional information on the transaction. The number they gave to call is 1-877-388-6571 this is NOT a valid BA number!!! We called the bank and they said they sent no such request. They even sent a fake text to our phone! I ended up paying 10 bucks more with Paypal and got piece of mind. Just wanted to give you all a heads up on this should you encounter a similar situation.

Paypal and JDM purchases

Paypal and JDM purchases
I just attempted to purchase a Daiwa Zillion from Digitaka .. price 231.00, I attempt to use paypal and suddenly the price indicated is 242? anyone know why this is happening, shipping is free over 180 or something, is this taxes? Is there a way to avoid taxes? (if that is what this is) Sorry for all the questions on this but I'm new to the JDM game, Thanks for any assistance, Joe.

The One That Broke Your Heart
For me it has to be around 1990 or so. I was fishing a local Reservoir one early morning. It was calm as glass and I was working a Heddon Tiny Crazy Crawler about 20 feet from the shoreline in a parallel fashion. After the ripples from the lure landing cleared I gave it a couple of twitches and the water exploded. The fish, a smallmouth bass, then almost immediately came up out of the water shaking her head, back down she went only to come up a second time shaking her head at which time she tossed the lure out of her mouth..I estimate that fish to be in the 6-7lb range (a very big smallmouth for this area, the state record is 8.2 lbs from the same body of water). Ironically, the rest of the day STUNK!! I landed a couple of dinks and that was it...I still have dreams or should I say nightmares about that fish!

Leader or not?
Do you use a leader with your braided line? I used to but started to experiment without a leader and honestly found no difference whatsoever in my catch rate. Even in the few placea that I fish were the water is pretty clear again no noticeable difference at all. How about you guys? Thanks, Joe.

Ever get tired of catching them...
Do you ever get tired of catching your bass on the same lures? I do, I catch 90% of my fish on Spinnner baits. When I switch it up and go to something else whether its plastics or whatever I simply don't catch much at all ... I wonder if I have gotten myself into a rut? and have lost my touch with other lures? I'm not a tournament fisherman so it's purely recreational for me, if I was fishing for money then I'm sure I wouldn't care what I caught them on, lol.

JDM questions...
I wanted to get a zillion in the lower ratio but I just don't trust the aluminum gears cranking on the big spinnerbaits and crankbaits.

JDM questions...
I have a couple of questions regarding JDM. When I see they have zero stock and they have a wish list option, does that mean they are getting more? Also, is the JDM prices usually the cheapest? Thanks, Joe.
