Can anyone recommend a reel for big spinner baits? a 5 something ratio would be good I think. Like to keep it under 200 bucks or so. Thanks...Joe.

Thanks for the replies, as if you couldn't tell this was my first purchase from Japan so I've learned a few things thanks to your replies. Did this zillion reel really sell for over 300 bucks at one time?

Well the bottom line is I paid 224.00 thru amazon for a Daiwa Zillion SV TW 1000 Bait Reel Right Handle (2021 Model)...I couldn't find a better price that had it in stock, but I could have missed a that. Oh well, I paid what I paid and at least it's on the way...still worth it. Thanks, Joe.

I like to toss 1/2 - 5/8 oz spinner baits a lot. My question is...do I need to be concerned about the aluminum gears in these reels holding up to that? Thanks, Joe.

The Zillion sounds great but I must admit the aluminum gears make me hesitant.. I have heard of some older Steezes getting "rougher" with age etc. .. so there's that... Thanks again for the replies..

Full disclosure, I don't own any Googan Products. I keep seeing a lot of hate for Googan Products, why is this? I mean, why are they any worse than all the Saturday Morning Pimps that are pushing their stuff on their show? I mean c'mon, we all know these "pros" will slap there name on anything as long as the price is right, so what gives with Googan Tackle?

What is the baitcaster you have or had that most surprised you with performance and durability for the price?

I have an older 70 lb 24 V Minn Kota trolling motor that has 4 wires coming off of it .. 2 red, 2 black. I want to put a plug on the end of these wires. I have a brand new plug and outlet that is for 2 or 3 wires (Marinco 70AMP). I hate to have to buy another that is specifically for 4 wires if I don't have too. My question...is there any problem if I just use 2 of the wires coming off the motor into the plug? Batteries are connected in series. Thanks, Joe.

I release everything in general but I have no problem with somebody taken the limit of fish that they are entitled to under the laws. I do wish agencies would start giving Large Mouth Bass the same kind of stocking programs that are given to Trout for instance. The Bass are under tremendous pressure in some areas and could sure use some help.
