  1. I'll second the Airrus Rods
  2. I use quite a bit of Vanish and have not had this porblem. As a suggestion, purchase another brand and try it to see if the problem still exsists. It could be due to something else such as a nick in a guide.
  3. As tough as it was........no problem with the bragging. Most guy's in the top 25 smoked the locals. Good job Dale. I came in 74 second to last place check and I'm good with that. As always, that one that I missed...lol. I went back for the Salute to the Screaming Eagles and the fishing was about the same but the joy of the soldiers was better than the best day of fishing. See you around the block
  4. Never tried it but it is my understanding that waxing the bottom of the hull will cause a decrease in speed. That said, you should wax down to the part that does not ride in the water to protect it from road grim. I'm getting ready to try Bow to Stren (BTS). I'll let you know how it works but I've heard rave reviews, even better than Boat Saver and BTS is supposed to increase your speed when used on the hull. Keep this post up and I'll report back on my findings.
  5. Hey Dale, I sent you an email on your questions. Not sure if it's okay post it on here. If that doesn't answer your questions or you have others, give me a buzz (404) 323-2819. Anyone else is of course welcome to also.
  6. Hey Dale, I'll be there, staying at Swiss Villa Inn. Riding in a Triton TR 21X. You'll see me Sunday at registration out front. Be care on the trip.
  7. I've never tried car wax. I've always used Meguirs (sp) on all my boats then and only do the front part of the hull were you get the scum line. Waxing the bottom of the hull will cost you speed because you smooth out the bottom. Once I come off the water, I've started using Shazam. The boat feeld like silk after it's wiped down.
  8. Good question, do you have to have a 21' boat, no. All you have to do is meet the tournament rules minimum boat length and motor size. What I would recommend is to make a pro vs con list of everything you'll face as a boater. Remember, as a boater you will have to be prepared for all types of conditions. Some things to think about as you make your choice: Water conditions; rough (storms) / calm Fuel capacity; how far will your runs be Partner; size and how much gear will they bring On and on It's going to be a tough decision. Just make sure you don't regret that decision because your making a big investment. Good luck
  9. Won't be a problem putting the transducer on the trolling motor. You just need to get the right kind of hanger and/or large hose clamp.
