  1. i am only taking 2 combos with me. One of which is my trusty buzz frog setup. The other one ill have a T-rigged brush hawg with the weight pegged. Have a few different colors of each and also have some crankbaits as well. So hopefully i'm pretty well covered. Hope it all goes well! Matt
  2. I have to drive over to Fort Myers for business on sat. I am taking US 27 to 80 to hit up some fishing spots along the way. Never fished in the Big O area. From what i hear the fishing has been pretty good there, so hopefully i'll have some pics by this time tomorrow. Wish me luck! Matt
  3. Spent a couple hours this morning hitting a few spots in southwest ranches, it was slow again. One small bass on a buzz frog and another 1lber on a brush hawg. i'm just in a funk right now. And i've never fished in hollywood. Know of a few spots in the pembroke pines area though. Good Luck! Matt
  4. Nice fish! Gotta love the topwater blowups! I havent caught anything near that size in a couple of weeks. Hopefully i can break my dry spell tom morning! Good job! Matt
  5. Of course. Either way its still a BIG jack. Again great job with the jack and snook!
  6. thats awesome! i know smaller jacks put up a great fight, i can only imagine what this was like, especially on lighter tackle. great job! Matt
  7. Awesome rod! I bought a 7'MH microguide about 6 months ago for my frog setup. Have a BPS PQ paired with it so the white/silver looks great! Rod has taken a beating over the last few months pullin fish out of the slop and no signs of slowing down! Also recently purchased a vendetta which i havent thrown enough yet to really tell. Matt
  8. Nice job guys! Went out myself this morning for about 2 hours walkin the shore. Just caught 3 small ones and 2 small bass. Goin out again thursday morning and going to try the boca rio canal, never tried there and i've always been curious! Great job again! Matt
  9. Great Rod! I bought the veritas micro around 3-4 months ago, love it! I might have 50 fish on it so far and its awesome! I have a vendetta casting as well, both are great! Matt
  10. Nice job basshunter, i went up and stuck a couple this mornin but nothing that size. Great job!
  11. I second capt shane. They love frogs this time of year thats for sure. Also for a couple different reasons, you can cover a lot more water in less time with a buzz frog, and second, theres nothing like that topwater bite! Parallel casts are great, and keep an eye on the other bank and look for differences in cover. Small pockets, pads, grass clumps, those are all ingredients to a good day! Good luck! Matt
  12. 5lbs, 8lbs, 10lbs whatever. Either way its still a slob in my books! And topwater also! That is the best! Everytime i see a blowup my heart still skips a beat, lol. Awesome catch! Matt
  13. Had about an hour to kill this morning after i dropped my step daughter off at school, so i stopped at a little canal in west davie and pulled this big boy out. I'm guessing 4 or 4 1/2lbs. Not huge but big enough to make my day! Caught another 3lber and a dink while i was there. Not a bad morning at all!
  14. I'll have to try that the next time i go. I'll have to find more spots on google earth that look accessable from shore. I had a great time and i'm itching to do it again! Thanks for the info! Matt
  15. Thanks guys! @gambler, i had never really fished in coral springs so i used google earth to pick out a few spots. The few canals i found were in the western part of coral springs north and south of sample. One of the spots i was able to walk a good half mile down the bank before i ran out of room. It looked great but only produced one fish there. @diggy, i do feel a little bit of guilt when they get whacked, but i see it as helping save the bass population. Good luck to everyone fishin the round up tomorrow, wish i could partake but i do work on saturdays. Hope to see a lot of pics!
  16. well had a good morning today. caught 4 alltogether. the 4th one i couldnt get a pic of because i didn't have my phone in my pocket, and also a 2lb bass. i threw buzz frogs(my favorite) and had about 12 or so blowups. Very exciting to say the least. It was also great to hear the crack of the bat also, haha. Hope the pics load up well and i'm glad to do my part in bass conservation today! Matt
  17. As i have tomorrow morning off from work and was unable to participate in the round up last week, i am trekking north to coral springs to take out some of life's frustrations on some snakeheads. Loaded up on frogs this morning and hope to have a good outing, i may even see how they taste. Hopefully i'll have some pics up at this time tomorrow! Matt
  18. I will be 30 next month. I do love to fish. I try to go every couple of days if even just for an hour or so. Good thing about south florida you never have to go very far. Ive lived here my whole life, and just bought a house in the cooper city, pembroke pines area. Nice to meet you guys! Matt
  19. Hey everyone, Ive been fishing on and off all of my life. Ive been reading the boards a little bit lately and decided to join. I dont own a boat so 99.9% of my fishing is from shore. I do a lot of residential fishing and normally do fairly well. I look forward to talking with everyone!
