well ive been kayak fishing for awhile now just have a regular 200$ sit in kayak from dicks sporting goods..anyhow im looking to upgrade!!! pretty much have my heart set on the diablo Chupacabra, but i would love to see some of your rigs and the gear you have on them!

on the rivers i fish i generally use a spinner. color is dependent on clear skies or cloudy days. i seem to have the best of luck with spinners also a small stripped bass rapala that dives deep seems to pull them out when i come to deep spots.

wearing a buff is a must on the water in the sun!

it may not be the absolute best way to fish but honestly i dont care..i only use spinners when i fish unless im fly fishing..i produce the most amount of fish off of just different colored spinners and i catch fish on rivers lakes and ponds with them..so they are really all i use. call me stupid but thats what us rednecks use..and ive been tought to use them by my dad..they may not be giant bass but when im on a kayak or in the river wading i just like catching fish haha.

thanks everyone for all the help i will most likely end up going with the citica. i might try the tape too. i really wanna master this style of fishing o thought heaver line was better for bait casters like 17pound or something but i also thought heavy line was bad for top water because the line sinks and messes up the action. also what brand of line? i dont really care what i use on my spinners but dose it matter with a bait caster? thanks guys

no matter what im fishing for bass,cat blue gill carp anything i always wait till i feel the fish pull i guess i just know how it feels by now but once i feel it pull i yank and set the hook. i rarely dont hook a bass now really only when im using a buzz bait without a trailer hook

hey all just recently joined and as title says im new to bait casters ive been fishing open face all my life and really want the quickness of a bait caster so i piked me up a shimano rod fairly cheap ( reason why i got it ) and now im looking for a reel i think i will stick with a shimano product. so maybe someone can point me in the right direction there. also what line should i use? what pound of line? my past experience with my pflueger bait caster is not good! bird nests every time!! but im determined to start learning with a nice new reel. this rod will only be used for topwater jigs so any requests would be nice just need to know what reel, line , pound of line, and any tips on how to not bird nest haha! thanks guys.

hey guys first off my name is wyatt im 18 and live in hickory nc. i have been fishing many of the years of my life and love it i have recently been fishing for just bass instead of the "anything" fish haha...but i have about 5 lakes within 30 minutes of my house and i fish all of them. also the friends and families ponds and streams. figured i would join the forum and learn a few things and maybe help some new comers learn some things too!
