  1. I usually shoot for 4-5 on a good week but it usally ends up being 2-3 a week
  2. My guess would be that the bass are already spawning, I am in Mass and I've been catching bass off beds for a couple weeks now. I would check the flats, andd on the flats if there are any stumps or anything like that, look for beds around that. In the weeds, just look for spots where there are none. There should be holes in the weeds where there is a bed
  3. Yup, they have been on beds for a couple weeks or so, what are the water temperatures up your way?
  4. In my opinion it is totally fine to fish these, have fun with it. if the fish are being maintained directly by human control, not naturally feeding on bluegills, craw all that stuff I wouldn't be going around saying I am better fisherman than someone else who hasn't caught one as big, but it's still a great fish. If they are living in a natural environment, I see no problem at all with it, what, just because it has bigger fish? That's like saying I am cheating saying I went to Falcon instead of the 500 acre lake up the street, as long as it is not like shooting fish in a barrell, i see no problem at all
  5. Oh yeah, a bunch, I have caught a few and several others that are already spawned out
  6. Zoom horny toads and Ol' Monsters
  7. No such thing as too much... I have freezer bags STUFFED full of just about every type and color of soft plastic you can find... most of which I rarely/never use... I just can't help myself... the worst thing is when I shop online and want to get up to whatever price the "free shipping' sets in on that website, I hate spending the 5-8 bucks on shipping, so I end up spending an extra 30 on lures I didn't even need
  8. Zoom Ol' Monster is my favorite, but I use a bunch
  9. I just can't stop fishing horny toads... I would just be screwed in the colder times of the year in Mass
  10. What part of Maine are you in? I am in Mass, fishing has been great, topwater bite was HOT last week
  11. I haven't used it or even really looked at it, but BASS has been talking about it on their site a bit along with the Fantasy fishing, and the BASS articles have said that bass gold has pretty much been dead on with the bait, area, and total weight of alot of the Elite tourneys and some of the opens
  12. First of all, you want to stay as far away from the bed/fish as possible so you don't spook them off too much. If you get up close before you realize they are there, back off far enough so that you can just barely see where the bed is. I like salamanders/brush hogs, something in that family, tubes usually work well too. Go with something that has some chartreuse or white on it so you can see it in the water. Be patient, it can definitely take some time. Hit every spot on the bed, don't keep putting your bait on the same spot, for some bass there will be a "sweet spot" that will really fire them up.
  13. Try a different time of day. I have a pond I fish just like this, it is out in the woods, nearly no one fishes it besides me and my buddies that I take out with me. Other than the occasional big one during the day, the ONLY time we catch monsters is at night and they will only hit one lure, the same one every night.
  14. I would say in the area of 5
