  1. Wow, you are declaring your victory speech already. Too funny. After the smoke settles on the 31st we will see who's "King of the Hill".
  2. Nice pig, Jacob, that one there puts you at 91", 1" behind #2 Dsidle and 2.5" away from Joe. WTG!!
  3. Posts are coming few and far between. Looks like everyone is getting ready for x-mas. People will start travelling starting this weekend I am sure. I want to wish all of you a Merry X-mas. I know its early, but some of you will be leaving soon to visit and be with loved ones. May you have safe travels, and enjoy the holidays with your families. Monday I will post standings, the good news for me is I am off next week, so maybe I can move up some slots before the New Year. I want to wrap up my time with you guys strong. Take Care.
  4. Nice fish Shane, I was wondering where you've been. Has any big girls moved into the canals in the glades yet?
  5. Thank you, for finding that article.
  6. Yes, ^^^^^^^^what he said^^^^^^^ I can't remember what magazine had an article on them. Some how this fish has the best qualities of FL LMB, and N LMB all put together. They are raised and bred in private lakes.
  7. Thinking like that, and you want to go camping in the Glades by yourself...... hmmmmm.
  8. Believe it or not, I don't go too crazy on presentation when I have used jigs. I have had more luck on the SK bitsy jigs with zoom split tail grubs. I swim them with very light hops along the ledges in the canals in my neck of the woods.
  9. My advice to you, is hang out on this site more often, and get to know the guys. Especially local ones. I have been very fortunate, and have met and fished with several guys on here that I can call my friends. Over time you will meet new people and make new friends. Best of luck.
  10. Bummer your friends bailed on you. I would not recommend going to the glades by yourself. What helps is that you have experience, but you never know. Bad fall, snake bite, animal attack... the list is endless. Is it worth putting your wife through the stress? I would say wait and reschedule. Our weather is going to be great for while.
  11. Hey..... !!! LOL..... I don't fish them much but I have caught decent fish on them. It's just not one of my go to baits.
  12. A few things actually. They chip pretty easily after a few fish, which then turns the color of the hook from red, to gold. I also noticed that my catch rates were the same when I used red vs black nickel. Also, like someone mentioned earlier, I lost my confidence using that hook color. Please do not mistake what I am saying however. I caught numerous bass, over a 4+ year period, but I don't feel it was because of the hook. I would have caught the same fish with a regular black hook. But.... if you like them and you feel they are working for you, then have at it. I used Gami's. I just love their needle points.
  13. Several years ago red was the only hook I would fish with. I don't care much for them now. Black Nickel is what I use.
  14. Had a slow day of work today so I had a chance to go to the park and fish for a while. Blue bird skies, and nice cool breeze from the NE. Made the fishing tough but I managed two decent ones I would say. A 16.5" and 17" They will help my numbers a bit, puts me at 63". It's taking me a while but I will catch up. I caught them either using a BPS stick bait or WM seed centipede deadsticking. Not my favorite technique because it requires patience for that slow decent, but none the less it worked today.
  15. Oh!!! I can't forget the goo. Megastrike of course.
  16. Where do I start.... LOL... Last year it was all about 3rd Gen Abu's, I got the Revo S and STX. Then I expanded and I have 2 Lews reels; MG and TT PRO. Rods: 4 St Croix's : LTB, Avid, Rage, Premier and 1 Dobyns champion. Thanks BR, my bait monkey luuuuvs me. LOL.
  17. Drat..... now Joe is going to break the Century mark and break the braggin rights record.. Thanks Jacob. ...... LOL
  18. George great question, I have never asked you, what would be yours?
  19. AK, can you see the lure?? If you are hooked on the stalk of a lily pad, you have two options. Take a swim like suggested or get your hands on that jon boat. Nothing is getting that lure out of those pads once a hook is stuck on there.
  20. Great news! Best wishes to you and your family.
  21. Talk about having "sea legs" those images were crazy!!
  22. Here's something funny in regards to this thread. If you decide to google a topic more times than not, google will direct you to a thread on BR regarding the topic. LOL.
  23. Just get your hands on a telescopic painting stick, they are long aluminum poles that can reach 6-8ft. Attach a wire close hanger or some sort of hook on it, and retrieve your lure.
  24. Look at that.. Jacob talking up his game. It's nice to see another group of guys getting after it. Best of luck.
