Flouro Problems
I use about 5 foot of braid on the bottom of the reel, then the rest fluoro. I am not sure why it works.. but once I did this i never had any problems. Maybe because the fluoro carbon doesnt get to tight around the bottom of the spool and cause problems while you cast? I really don't have that answer but after I put braid on the bottom of the spool i never had any backlashes.

Flouro Problems
When i first tried fluoro I absolutely hated it.. i mean really despised it.. After countless backspools a friend of mine told me to try tieing a 2-3 foot leader at the beginning of my spool with some braid.. I tried it out and havent looked back since. I use 12lb Berkley Vanish and i tell you it casts so smooth and so far and rarely backspool unless i make a mistake.

I Need A Boat..
Sorry Jim, I've been working and haven't been able to check back with everyone.. Yes i know i should rush into it and theres no way i could put the proper investment into a decent boat. I am really passionate about fishing and the outdoors and it would be a great tool for me to enjoy what i do even more!! But looks like i will have to wait or look into a kayak for now.. .. Wishing i could hit the Lottery right about now!!!!

Crankbait Suggestions
I've never been much of a hardbait fisherman and would like to expand my fishing arsenal.. What are some decent crankbaits or jerkbairs i can throw. I will probably stop by Dicks Sporting Goods after work today. Also, will it be a problem if i throw it on 12lb fluoro? One last thing, whats the best way to work them.. In open water? Cadences? Thank you ! Nick

Flouro Problems
What i do is put like 10-20 yards of braid on first so the fluoro doesnt dig into the spool.. I just tie my 12lb berkley vanish onto it and spool it up.. Havent had any problems yet. Like everyone else said.. Check ur guides etc. Best of luck.

What Line Do You Like Better?
I personally have never fished either of them but I fish with 12lb berkley vanish and havent had one problem yet despite the negative reviews.

Jig's - What's Your Favorite Jig + Trailer?
Thank you guys !! Any advice for colors? I fish mainly rocky resevoiurs (Unfortunately OffShore).. I need something that won't snag up to easily on rocks and that will get the fish to smash it!! I try and do the best I can because I dont have the funds to purchase a boat. What is the best weight to use? 1/4 oz? I use a SkeetReese Football Head Rod (7'2) with a Shimano Caenan reel with 20 lb braid. What is the best way to fish a jig in a rez? Hop it off the bottom ? Sorry for all the questions I am new and looking to improve!! Thanks for everything, Nick.

Portable Fish Finders?
Hey Uknown, I have the same exact problem as you.. im a full time college student working 30 hours a week with a girlfriend and bills to pay.. the budget is very tight for me as well and i know how frustrating it is to not have a boat.. Im ready to give up fishing cause i just cant stand offshore fishing anymore.. I am looking to spend a few hundred i have saved up over the last 6 months or so and pool some money with my brother and one of my buddies and see if we can purchase something for about 1,000. Nothing fancy.. i just need to get out on the water.. Every dollar i save goes to fishing (I Love To Fish). Where I am from the fishing is tough (Massachusetts) so any change i get to be out on the boat im willing to sacrifice for. Hang in there man, hopefully our luck will change one day!! Cheers, Nick.

I Need A Boat..
Hello Everyone, I have quite the big dilemma.. With me only being 19 years old as a full time college student and dont have the most sufficient funds to buy a very nice bass boat by any means.. What would everyone suggest me to do so I am able to get out on the water (Sick of Off-Shore Fishing). How much is a decent Jon-Boat? I am an avid fisherman and I really want to increase my skills and fish from a boat.. Offshore fishing is either hit or miss where I live. (I am 20 minutes North of Boston). Please give me some ideas!! I hate kayak fishing because I won't be able to jig or anything. Give me some advice and feedback on what I should do.. Thank you everyone! Nick.

New Rod Recommendations?
Hey everyone, looking to invest in a new rod.. My 7' Spinner/Worm Skeetreese just blew up on a hookset on a fish that was less than a pound, dicks wont let me return it.. long story short i want to purchase a new rod that is the best overall.. I was looking at the AbuGarcia Veritas.. any suggestions?

Three Outfits, Pick The Best, Smoothest Caster.
I'm going to go with #1.. I have the same rod hooked up with a shamano caenan and it is unbelievably smooth casting with NO backlashes. It is unbelievably lightweight and has more feel than any rod i've purchased. ** I throw this setup with 12lb berkley vanish, thus far have had minimal problems with it despite hearing people go nuts over losing fish and knot tieing. Wet the knot before you tie it and you'll be all set!

New Setup - Need Help
I am new to jigging and don't have the proper setup as of now. I am a little tight on funds because I just bought a vacation, what is the rod that i will get the most bang for my buck for jigging (as in sensitivity/feel/weight)? Just let me know what setups you guys use and toss in some rods you know of that can help me out. thanks!

What is the best type of jig and trailer? Would I be able to use any type of jig on a 7'Ft Medium Fast Skeet Reese Spinnerbait/Worm rod? And whats the best way to work a jig? Fishing From Boston Ma
Hey All, Just joined the forum, pretty excited for this years fishing. I've been fishing off and on for about 4 years and not taking it seriously until this year, found a passion for the outdoors and as well as fishing. I fish the local ponds around my city, nothing to fancy. Just picked up a great rod reel combo, which has made everything so much easier. (7 Ft. Skeet reese spinnerbait/worm rod with shimano caenan reel). Can't wait to fish this whole year!! Nick.
