  1. Thanks for the replies! I didn't realize Academy had them that cheap.
  2. http://bham.craigslist.org/boa/3056942184.html What do you guys think about this one? I really don't know anything about these boats but after reading this entire thread I think I've found my next project . The one in the link looks a little rough but it could just be cosmetic. Would you even bother going to take a look? Thanks for any info.
  3. The only ones I use are the 1.5 and 2.5 and I have pretty good luck with them.
  4. At least now you have something to work with. Start trying different colors, sizes and blade styles. If your lake is heavily fished I would try something really small like a Booyah Pond Magic spinnerbait or buzzbait.
  5. A friend of mine used to tie a fly behind a floating rapala. He would use the rapala as a weight to cast the fly and would absolutely clobber bream and the occasional bass.
  6. Welcome to the site.
  7. I would also recommend youtube. I know you said you enjoy books, but youtube is full of instructional videos that you can use once you decide to really nail down a technique that you like. I also agree with North GA Hillbilly, get some small hooks, some splitshot weights, some bobbers and whatever bait is readily availabe in your area and go have a blast with your son.
  8. x2 on the Quantums. I love mine, they cast great and are really smooth. I think TW has a sale going right now on a couple of them.
  9. Looks like an awesome day!
  10. That's a healthy looking fish!
  11. Thank you kind sir. I have heard of Rome but I've never been there. The only places I've visited in GA are Brunswick and Atlanta.
  12. Hello and welcome to the site.
  13. No disdain here. It doesn't matter to me what someone else uses. I just prefer to use BC's. To each his own.
  14. I only have one spinning outfit and it belongs to my lovely wife. My style of fishing isn't what you would call finesse.
  15. Hello and welcome to the site.
  16. I'm not Kevin, Jimmy or Roland, but I would love to come see what I could catch in three days at your lake
  17. Right now I'm battling a pretty serious swim jig addiction.
  18. I love all of them! I can't think of one single strike that I wish I hadn't gotten.
  19. Hello fellow Alabamian and welcome to the site.

  21. Hello and welcome to the site.
  22. I have a pair of the Berkley glasses and for the price you can't them. I also had a pair of the Strike King glasses that lasted me for about three years before the lenses started fading.
  23. I would try them. Crankbaits don't have to be running into stuff to get strikes. I catch plenty of fish at my local lake throwing a 2.5 in 8ft of water.
  24. I have been using the Koppers lately and really like them. I haven't bought a Spro frog in a long time but the last ones I had would fill with water and sink like a rock after a couple of casts.
  25. It's hard to beat the excitement of frog fishing
