Hey guys,

I was browsing and found this website. My name is Drew and I'm a avid bass fisherman. I just bought a 16 5 foot Champion bass boat and I'm looking for places to take it out around the Memphis area. I know pickwick is supposed to be good, but I was hoping for something a little closer to Memphis. Any help would be appreciated and from the looks of it I will really enjoy this site. Also, if anyone wants to get together and fish just let me know! Thanks!

Hey, Im also a new member from north Ms about an hour from memphis. Pickwick has pretty good fishing. Sardis is a little closer to you than pickwick but not sure on fishing. I hear its also good though.

Welcome....................

hey welcome!

I am fairly new to the area as well but I can give you a few spots to check out that I have learned the hard way on in a year + I have been around. Closest to you that i know would be Herb Parsons. It is fairly small and idle only but has some decent fish in it. I have also fished on Mckellar downtown but the scenery there is down right depressing at times with the fuel treatment plant there and TONS of litter. I have had good luck at Tunica cut off when the water level is right and the prettiest lake within an hour I have been to is Horseshoe over in Arkansas. Horn Lake (Lakeview) was good for me until the floods last year. There is no boat launch there now. I have yet to hit Enid or Sardis down 55 in Mississsippi but hear they are ok, just d**n big compared to what I am use too. J.P Coleman launch in MS is not to far (2 hrs) to get on the upper side of Pickwick and it is gorgeous and you never know what you will catch there

Hope this helps a little anyway. I would be willing to go along sometime when we can make some plans. Folks here are great for help to get you started. Just look around

Welcome aboard!

Hello new member here also, welcome! CStann pretty much nailed it, with the lakes around here, Glenn Springs near Millington is a pretty lake and some decent bass, also there is a lake around jackson tn called Lake Graham that produces big bass another one I've been hearing about and never fished is Gibson county lake. Good fishing..

One more thing the Miss reservoirs are great lakes but like he said they're big. Used to fish em

all the time with my father when I was a kid till I was 16.

Hello and welcome to the site.

Welcome I'm from just out of Jackson. My brother fishes Lake Gram spelling? He has caught some 7-8 lbs out of there. Also Gibson County lake Carroll County lake. Humboldt lake it's a little smaller and not as big fish although I've heard of 8-10 lbs coming out of the lake. I would be remiss not to mention Reel foot lake a lot of stumps but good fishing. I would be glad to friend you on this and when my partner is tied up go out with you

We can swap fish stories and lake conditions.

I will be fishing Grove Park Saturday morning. If you are in town, maybe I will see you there.

Hey guys I just move here this past week from Colorado.  If you got any good places for me to try let me know or if you want a fishing buddy for the day that would be cool too.  Unfortunately I had to leave my little boat back home with my dad so my opportunity for any larger lakes are limited.  If any of you do a bit of fly fishing for bass around here I'm so up for someone showing me a few tips for that too!  Back home its all about the trout and I'm tired of it been fishing mostly for them my whole life.  Y'all can call me Drew also.
