So I was looking at those cores50mg thats a good performing reel that will hold up? Want something that is smooth and does not need upgrades before its awsome. I just hope they have a lefthand retrieve. The curado I had a older one it was great so stay with the e series? Thanks so much for your and others I have not bought gear in a while I was just not hip on the newer stuff I heard alot of bad about some of the other curados . But not the E . But really thank you all for all your suggestions it really is helping me out. My garage was broken into while we were away for the weekend. Insurance is helping alot but some stuff you just can not replace. On a good note they tried to get into my house and well that did not fair well for them. My 4yr old female rott was home and tore a chunk out of somebody. I was so proud of that dog my wife always said shes harmless never hurt anybody. The dog my brother was caring for her while we were away I guess he just missed them or something because he was there 5 times that day . I am thankful that the house was not destroyed or anything missing from there.

Thanks I just ordered some huddelston swim baits from them first time ordering from them. How do you feel about the carbonlight rods? I really was amazed at how light it was but i passed on it because at the time I had all I needed. I know their cheaper than I probally want for some but other applicatons it may fit the bill or should i just stick to fenwick smallmouth series for the cheaper end rods?.

I have a BPS about 40miles away so I could always go there is there a place online that has better prices?

Ok here is my situation I recently had all of my gear stolen. I ordered a fenwick MLF 6"9 elite tech spinning rod to try it out. But I to need to order like 6-7 new rods and reels. I want to get good stuff but I dont want to get crazy either. I typically spend 600 or less on combo. Wife has okyayed 3000.00 for gear not including tackle . I would like to come in uder that but have a combo for all baits. My fishing habits are Carolina rig,Texas rig,Jig,Spro frog I highly recomend this. spinner baits, Buzz bait ,cankbait. The dropshot&whacky small jigs I think the Phluger supreme will handle this with the fenwick rod metioned above It was a deal on ebay a kind member here posted for me. So question is where is the best bang for the buck in rods. Reels I can handle I dislike Shimano for their poor cutomer service but my brother has been letting me fish his Shimano only gear and to tell ya the truth I miss Shimano I may give it another go. I am not loyal to any brand except spro frogs... So which comboshould recieve the most money If you could kindly put them in order and give your recomendations for a light balanced combo with ballpark figure in price.

I am no pro or nothing but did you try cleaning it real good and using a light oil. The reason I say that is my brother has same real it had grease in it we cleaned and degreased it fixed his which is the same problem you describing. Just a thought im sure somebody else here knows more I am no longer a Shimano fan. But they do make fantastic reels though. I just dont care for thier customer service it is something to be desired. My sole opion of course.. Chad

Ok I hear great things about this stuff. I JUST purchased a Plueger Supreme 8230mg and a Fenwick Elite Tech 6`9" esms69ML-F this will be paired together. I wanted to use 6lb for drop shot and shaky presetation. My question is do I want ULTRA SOFT or REGULAR ? I can get both at bass pro I wanted Green in 6lb but no luck only clear but thats okay. I also thought about spooling up Fire Line Clear and try that in 6lb. I really like the 6lb for this application I will of course use KVD Line And Lure for this. Any suggestions are welcomed. Chad

Well my first plan was to buy a casting rod. Then I saw this deal and it just won me over. I hope I do love it the next rod will be either fenwick smallmouth series or bps carbonlight. I am just glad that drop shop and shaky heads will work that makes my day...I can not wait this was a smoking deal..

I have been fighting for new setup since 2 months ago trick is you have to start early and wear them down . I dont know if this rod will work for shakey heads or not but I hope so I have never felt one of these fenwicks before I have read they are a little bit stiffer than others so we will see. i got the MLF 6ft9.I am not sure what else it would be good for I am planing on 6lb yozuri hybird for this setup .

Well I said he made some valid points I did not name them. But I will 1 they are reels 2 bearing count was right on. 3. size. Well I pulled the trigger on this I really wanted to try one of those fenwick rods. Now the waiting game thanks for all that chimed I was not to familiar with Phlueger reels I just recently realized Shimano is not the only company that makes reels. I find my self enjoying others quite a bit. Once again thank you to the OP that gave me this link I do hope you grab one up.

Well I am sure this is going to ruffle some feathers. I had a Calias actually 3 that I used and they were great reels and not cheap right around 400.00 dollars. One of them started making noise it never made before so I took it in to a warrany center as you guy and paid to have it cleaned and lubed as I thought it was just dirty and needing lube. I was called a day later and told the real had a bad worm gear. I said ok what do we do call shimano and ask them to warranty this. I was shocked at what came next the service center told me sure but you should do it we have no luck getting parts. Oh boy here we go so call shimano tell them the problem and I was told should have bought better reel. I said I DID 400.00 was no were near a cheap Shimano at the time I think the Calcutta was 499.99 and that was there top reel at that time I could be wrong. So any way I send it I call them 3 weeks after I sent it certified mail. We dont have it here I said yes you do well we cant find it.I said send me a new one to replace the one you lost fair is fair. Well no luck 3mnths later I recieved my reel back not fixed normal wear and tear stated for the non warranty . I since realised that there is other companys that make just as good reals or better that have fantastic customer service. I will never buy Shimano again period.. My brother also had problems similar to the postings here I am not mad about non warranty as much as I am about the way it was handled I felt I was not good enough to own there reels so I Ebayed them all screw Shimano with a Big studded stick .....

I searched ebay and I came up with rods but no combos like you mentioned.

I myself am looking into these rods I have heard great things about the smallmouth series. If you get one let me know how it is. Oh if there is another combo on ebay like you mentioned im interested thats a steal rods go for 150.00 in my neck of the woods and thats the cheapest I can find them.
