im from the island but i have alot of friends in upstate ny...adirondacks is a great area to fish ive been to indian lake and have caught trout, forked lake in the town of long lake i caught my first LM it was around 4lbs..also try north south lake in the catskills its closer to the albany area and thats a nice place as well..ill be up there this weekend as a matter of fact. goodluck.

twin lakes in wantagh, mill pond in wantagh,..i fish twin lakes at least 2-3 times a week. last night i caught 4-5 pound largemouth, theres alot of pickerel in there tho hooked a 15inch a few hours ago but twin lakes is a great spot give it a shot. (smallmouth largemouth carp american eel bluegills brown bull head all can be found there)

whats up bro..i live here on longisland and im pretty sure i can help out a bit being a local to Nassau county.. twin lakes in wantagh (exit w5w off wantagh pkwy) is an extremely great place to fish mill pond..in wantagh is decent but you cant use boats..hempstead state park is about 160 plus acres you can use a canoe there and in fact i would advise you to do so..others are massapequa lake and massapequa resevior..my favorite place to fish is the twin lakes im there at least 3 times a week on a good week but try to make it there at least once a week..it has largemouth and smallmouth, carp, catfish, sunfish, american eel, chain pickerel even when it seems like a quiet day you can easily catch bluegills without trying,..its pretty popular spot but its never overcrowded same fisherman there all the time with plenty of knowledge of the lakes if you go just ask some fishermen for advice wed be happy to share some important tips youll need to know.. hope this helps good luck !
