Daiwa Knobs
thanks a lot for the help guys. The aftermarket knob appears to be a simper fi knob, I cannot find any info on these knobs in regards to bearing sizes. Im going to run home and grab my calipers, reel and knobs and see what is going on here.

Daiwa Knobs
Thank you for the response. I bought the reel used, I believe it's a bass art knob or some thing like that. It looks like there might be 3 bearings in it. I got 2 out of the knob but it looks like a third might be in there. I do t know if that's possible? I will measure the bearings when get home. The size you mentioned aren't they the same size as shimano handle bearings? Would it be possible to but a shimano knob on there?

Daiwa Knobs
I purchased some grey daiwa I shaped knobs and the bearings on the reel handle won't fit them. Does anyone know if different jobs take different bearings or a trick to get them to fit? heres what I'm working with. i called daiwa and they said they would gladly sell me a handle but no knobs.

Can someone under 18 finance a boat?
Why? Boat is probably the worst investment you could make. Save the $$ until it becomes expendable. Just my 2 cents.

St. Croix Mojo Bass Casting Rod MBC79HF ~ Opinions ?
I might call and see if they will do a 2 for 150 deal and get the 79hf and 711. Can never have to many rods right? Since most of my collection is fairy wands. It might not be a bad idea to get some heavier rods. Especially since I want to give our spring striper run a serious go.

Tubes
this works for me when they bite they are getting hooked. 1/4 jig head and 3/0 hook. You may want to post in the tackle making section. I'm sure some guys on here could pour you whatever you would like.

St. Croix Mojo Bass Casting Rod MBC79HF ~ Opinions ?
Have been looking myself found this and read quite a few threads the past few days. https://www.google.com/search?q=st+croix+mbc79hf&oq=st&aqs=chrome.2.69i59l3j69i60j69i61j69i60.1992j0j4&client=tablet-android-verizon&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#q=st+croix+mojo+swimbait+site:www.bassresource.com&prmd=svin On another forum dedicated to swimbait, quite a few people said it was very stiff.

Tubes
Tube jig 1/4 or round ball 1/8 with either a 2/0 or 3/0 jig hook.

Hard Glide Baits
Just purchased some hard Glide baits they are 7-8 inches and around 1 1\2-2 ounces. I'm wondering if I would be better off throwing these on a swimbait rod rated 1-4 oz or a heavy crankbait rod. Watched a few videos on YouTube and got some conflicting information. Looking for what some of you guys have to say. Thanks.

Fishing Tackle at a Boat Dealership
The boat shop near the boat launch has a small tackle section. They have things like flukes, senkos, keitechs, some jerkbaits and Zara spooks. I talked to the owner and he said he likes to talk to the guys fishing tourneys on the river and try's to stock what they suggest. If there is a body of water near you and any tournaments; might not be a bad idea to pick some of the anglers brains.

New Mojo Bass
I don't know I use a 7'0 mf spinning rod for that. I don't see why not.

New Mojo Bass
To me it depends On your preference handle and guides wise plus or minus $30. What's being lost here is not if they are different or not, they are probably very similar. I prefer cork and ceramic guides and would choose the mojo. You May like the wire guides and neoprene handle and go or the rage. $30 maybe be a deal breaker. They both will be plenty sensitive for jigs.

Matching spinning rods and reels
You will be fine. Probably better off with a bigger spool. The ml I use is rated 1/8-3/8 and I regularly use 5/8 with it no prob. Have fun and catch some fish!

New Mojo Bass
A blank I wanted to build on sc3 66medium moderate was discontinued a year or so ago. I called them to inquire if they had any left over which they did not. The customer service person suggested a purchase the sc3 7'0 mm and trim to length. I said that's a good idea but wont the warranty be voided if I cut it and they said yes. I would not be surprised if they use the same mandrels for various rods and just trim from the butt. Just looked at the blank catelog and the butt on a 7'mf is .530 and 6'6mf is .515

Small jigs on spinning gear
A Yamamoto hula grub on some sort of jig head would be an option as well
-
Small jigs on spinning gear
No prob. Just tryin to give you some options. Generally tubes are cheaper than skirted jigs so I thought it would be a good way to learn what a bite feels like.

Small jigs on spinning gear
So they are both lead headed hooks one just has a skirt and the other has a piece of plastic over them. I didn't know the guy already fishes tubes a lot already. If he does then he probably knows how to already fish a jig.

Small jigs on spinning gear
How are the two different?
