  1. I would travel a good 3 hrs to fish 4 or 5 times a year. On a weekly basis I drive I travel about an hour. I have a decent lake about 15 minutes from the house but the drought has about rendered that lake useless so Ive had to drive this fall.
  2. Im thinking about buying some jigs online and curious about color for dirty Kansas waters. Do they really make a difference? What colors would you choose to fish in the dirty waters of central Kansas??
  3. Here in Kansas our rivers and lakes are extremely low. One of the lakes closest to me that I fish regularly has been shut down due to blue green algae and also because it's just to low to allow boats on the water. I have a little housing development pond across the street from my house that always produces a decent catch. We got a rain that filled it back up and ever since the water level went way down the fishing has been horrible. My question is, what affects will these low water conditions have on the fish when the water level returns to normal?
  4. Sweet Video, thanks or sharing
  5. I fish mostly lakes in kansas with murky water. The boat is a 16ft jon boat with a 35 horse motor and a trolling motor up front

  8. Myself and a buddy went and fished this farm pond Saturday evening and used the advice givin and here and this is what i caught,4lb LMB on a texas rigged, weightless brush hog. We lost 3 because they tangled us around trees but managed to have a good couple hrs of fishing.
  9. Thanks for the replies. Im hoping to fish this pond in the next week or two and hopefully have some better luck with you suggestions.
  10. I practiced while we were out camping, standing on a picnic table. Irritant have a truck, try standing in the bed of it as well. Or from a elevated porch deck.
  11. A buddy if mine and myself have a very small but deep farm pond that we can fish on and we know its got some huge LMB. The trouble that we are having is that its got a huge weed problem approx 3 inches below the surface of the water and we can't get bait through the weeds. Is there anything we can do to get rid of the weeds and keep them under control without hurting the fish habitat.
  12. Thats hillarious, Im gonna try that out sometime lol
  13. I just found this site a couple days ago and had to sign myself up. I have already found tons of helpful info on the site. I am from Newton, KS and have been fishing for most of my 32 years Ive been alive. I have a wonderful wife that loves to fish, and two kids who like to fish, as long as friends or grandparents dont call. I usually fish for large and small mouth bass on a tiny lake just outside of town.
