Where To Fish And Camp In Kansas
I got up and fished McPherson State Fishing Lake this morning in the rain. It was a decent morning considering the storms that blew through right before I showed up. Ended up catching 6, 4 of them were over 2 pounds.

Questions About Replacing Carpet In My Boat
Has anyone ever done it themselves?? I'm curious if it was a pure pain or if it is something I can do? If you have done it yourself, would you do it again or pay someone to do it for you?? Approx. how long did it take you? Any tips or tricks you care to share?? By the way, this is in a 1989 18ft Astro FDX.

Where To Fish And Camp In Kansas
Marion county is a nice lake to fish and also camp, i fish there quite a bit. So far the biggest bass I've pulled from there is about 3 pounds but we catch a bunch of small bass around a pound or so. Marion County has a lot of big catfish if your into that. Another decent lake around here is Chase State Fishing Lake up by Cottonwood Falls. It's got really clear water for Kansas and is "kind of" out of the wind as it sits it a little valley. Good luck with your fishing and camping, let me know it goes.

Where To Fish And Camp In Kansas
We ran down to big hill lake reservoir. It's a beautiful lake but loaded with trees. A lot of locals said it was a bear to fish in the heat of summer an they weren't lying. Caught a couple nice ones and quite a few small ones. Campgrounds are really nice but you can't get to the water from them very easy which meant lots on loading and unloading the boat. Where do you plan to go this weekend, tallydude??

587 Hd Di.
I bought this unit last summer and it just doesn't seem to be working like I think it should. I've read the owners manual and done quite a bit of research online but just not sure what the best settings would be for the sonar and down imaging. I think I've played with every setting and it just doesn't seem to be as clear as I think it should be. Would any of you care to share your settings with me? I'm starting to think that I need to adjust multiple settings instead on just one at a time to get the absolute best performance. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Where To Fish And Camp In Kansas
I think we are looking at more SFL type lakes. She is not real fond of big water. She mentioned big hill reservoir, I had never hear of it but read some pretty decent things about it. Any of you guys know much about it??

Where To Fish And Camp In Kansas
All we plan to do is fish for the weekend. It's probably impossible but I'm also looking for a lake that if the wind blows like it has the last couple of days, I will still be able to get out and fish. Showers would be a plus. Other then that, I plan on fishing for two days and just relaxing.

Where To Fish And Camp In Kansas
I live in Wichita and my wife and I are looking to go fishing and camping this weekend. I am looking for some place different to go. I typically fish, locally so anywhere outside 50 mile radius of Wichita would be fine with me. What suggestions would you guys have for me?? I've looked into Perry Lake and Glen Elder. Where else would you suggest. We will be fishing from a boat as well so a boat ramp is a must! Thanks in advance.

Milford Lake Questions

Frustrated Fisherman, Any Advice!!
First off, I don't want to sound like a whinny high school girl, LOL!! I am having a heck of a time catching fish this year. I'm curious if it has anything to do with the crazy spring we've had here in Kansas or if its me. I'm almost sure the spawn has started here in Central Kansas, but you wouldn't think so as slow as the fishing has been for me. I spent six hours on the water Saturday with a buddy and we could throw the same lure at the same spot and he would catch a fish and I would come up empty handed every time. I have not changed one thing from previous years except for my fishing line. Is anyone else havin trouble catching fish this spring?? I've thrown everything at these fish that I can think of and still come up empty handed. I've taken a few weekends and still nothing. Any words of wisdom from my fellow fisherman??

At What Water Temp Do You Call It A Season....?
I went out last weekend and froze my butt off so I decided that was it for the season. Water temps were 38 degrees and air temps were about 45. I hate to have to bank fish for three or four months but it's better then nothing at all. It also helps I have a nice pond across the street from my house house so I can fish virtually anytime I want.

Oakley Big Bass Tour
Has anyone fished the Oakley Big Bass Tournament? I'm thinking about trying this out just for the heck of it this summer and would like to know your thoughts on the tournament. It's probably a 4-6 hour trip for me so I wanna know if its really worth my trip. I'm in no shape or form a pro but the shot at a new boat or even the 500 big bass payout seems like it may be worth a shot. What are your thoughts??

Show your ride...
This is my buddy's brand new Phoenix 920. To my knowledge this boat isn't even out on the market yet, but through his sponsorship with Phoenix he just received it. Talk about a fun rig to fish out of! We shot the video on Perry lake in Eastern Kansas. Top speed in this video was about 74.6 if the GPS was correct. It's powered by a Mercury Pro XS 250. Thats a bad boat!!!!! I want one SOOOOOOO bad, maybe in a few years.

Minn Kota Maxxum Trolling Motor
I purchased a used 2001 MInn Kota Maxxum bow mount 74 pound thrust trolling motor for my 1990 Astro 18FDX bass boat. I used the trolling motor ove the weekend and noticed that the speed control does not seem to be working properly. It goes from slow speed, about half way between off and 10, to full speed between at about a 20 setting. I am looking for parts to fix this problem but I am having trouble finding what Im looking for. Does anyone on here know how to go about getting the part to fix the speed control. the part looks like a typical potentiometer from radio shack but there is nothing like that in the exlpoded view that I can see. Any ideas???

Bed Liner In Place Of Carpet
I recently bought a 1990 Astro 18FDX. The boat hull an motor are in very good condition but the carpet needs some help. What are your guys thought on replacing the carpet with bed liner? Is this a good idea or not? What are some pros and cons of doing this?

$532 For Motor Service Reasonable?
Spark plugs- way to high in my opinion and a simple change for a do it your self person Fuel Filter- that's a not a bad price an it's a fairly simple fix for a do it your self person Water Pump- from what I've priced that seems about right. It's a little more complicated fix but the do it your selfer can do it if you want. Gear lube- decent price and an easy fix Belt- not sure what belt you had replaced so I really can't comment. With all that being said, you also need to remember that all of the parts were probably OEM Mercury parts which run high(all factory parts are higher priced). I would say the price charged is a fair price but you could probably save yourself quite a bit of money doing things yourself with manual.

Outboards Over The Winter
What do you guys do to your outboards over the winter. I don't wanna put the boat up for the winter because here in Kansas, the weather may never get cold enough to keep me off the water all winter. So what do you guys who possibly can fish all winter do with your outboards?

Kc Area Get Together
Is there anyone that's going that I could hitch a ride in the boat with. I will not know till Friday afternoon if I have to work or not so its got to be tentative deal for me. I'd be driving up from the Wichita area so if anyone else is going from around these parts we could carpool as well. I've been fishing forever but just recently started really hitting the bass hard this summer. So with that being said, I'm no expert, so if you take me on your boat I hope you know what your doing lol.
