Yep, we had one boat from Wichita at the spring get together.    jr-your info list Coffey Co as one of your favorite lakes. According to Google Maps it takes 6 more minutes and 1 more mile to get to

  • I suggest we try to get started at Butler on the 12th of Oct. If Butler is too low to fish (water not deep enough to fish the jetties), we go to Howard (Polk Daniel). If this date is bad for anyone, l

  • Thanks to all who attended.  We didn't get a chance to really have a "get-together" but 3 boats and 5 guys isn't bad for a 1st attempt. Drdriver and son left early (not sure what time) but I think the

I think there is only a handful of us on here. Or atleast that are somewhat active.

If I remember right there was 1 boat from Wichita at Melvern for the Spring meet.

I thought about joing the KC area guys, and still might, but was just kind of testing the waters to see if there was any interest in doing something a little closer to home lol.

Id be more than glad to be a coangler with you sometime if you need. Or vice versa.

Just dont think there are alot of active people from Wichita on here.

I'd be down for this. Actually the best way to do it is to have everyone meet at a park and bank fish. I organized all of the South Florida get togethers when I lived in West Palm Beach. We got almost 20 guys each time. A little different here, obviously.

Although I'm not in Wichita, I would love to do something like this. I live in Ark City and fish with the Winfield Bass Club. If you get something going please send me an email alk4024th@yahoo.com. I can see if I can get some of the guys from Winfield to attend if we get enough notice.

Thanks,

Al

I had a good time fishing with the guys at Melvern this spring. If you put something together in the Wichita area count me in, I am sure I could get another boat or two to participate as well.

depends on the lake and fishing i wouldnt mind going so just get something together and see what happends give ample time for people to get off work if need be

Only problem I see in this is location. If there are a good many boats, there isnt a bigger lake in the area that could provide the good fishing. Butler would probably be back down and so people would be limited to the main lake west of the jettie.

Did this get dropped?? I'd like to see it happen in October sometime. Just for openers I'd say someplace like Polk Daniel (in Howard) or Winfield just to get together first time.

That's always the hardest part about these things, finding someone willing to do the work just to get the wheels turning.

I suggest we try to get started at Butler on the 12th of Oct. If Butler is too low to fish (water not deep enough to fish the jetties), we go to Howard (Polk Daniel). If this date is bad for anyone, let me know and we'll try another.

I'm sending this in a PM to everyone who posted interest in this thread. If I can get email addr from everyone, I will start an email thread so we can stay in touch about it.

We will have to be willing to have non-boaters accompany, since I'm sure some of the respondents will be shore fisherman. I'm certainly willing to have someone go with me..

I would be up for it! My only concern is you get more than 10 boats on Butler, its crowded.

Only have 3 ATM

That's true! So far we are up to five (counting you). My calendar is set. The only thing we have to worry about is the water level and the weather.

Can I have your email address? Mine is posted above in this thread.

This is what I have so far:

Al Kimsey (me)                   Boater

Tallydude                           Boater

JRSmith80                         Boater

Kansasbassfisher80         Non-boater

MrScrogg                          Boater

Trytofish                            Boater

Right now we are talking Butler State Lake launching at around 7AM on Oct 12.

Thanks to everyone who responded. Looking forward to meeting all and having a great day on the water.

Hey guys:

I am going to try and make the get together. I wont know till probably the week of the event due to overtime at work. If I make the event I will bring my boat.

Sounds lile we got tons of boats with single anglers.

You can cookout there, but it dont have the amenities as bigger lakes have.

We may have 2 non-boaters other than Kansasbassfisher08. Rockchalk (from Edmond, Ok) and a friend of mine. Would one of you be willing to have a co-angler? It would help.

Thanks, Al

I WILL TRY WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF A MOVE RIGHT NOW I WONT KNOW UNTIL A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT DUE TO THE MOVE AND WORK I AM A NON BOATER BUT IF I CAN AND IT WORKS OUT IM IN I ALSO NEED TO SEE IF MY BOATER\PARTNER IS IN TOWN OR NOT HE MIGHT GO BUT I DOUBT IT.

Hope you can make it sizzlefry!!!
