Featured Replies

I just checked on the date again. My son is having tubes put in his ears on the 15th and will be taking him back here for a few day. Sorry.

The next one, I'm game and will pay for someone's fuel!

Yep, we had one boat from Wichita at the spring get together.    jr-your info list Coffey Co as one of your favorite lakes. According to Google Maps it takes 6 more minutes and 1 more mile to get to

  • I suggest we try to get started at Butler on the 12th of Oct. If Butler is too low to fish (water not deep enough to fish the jetties), we go to Howard (Polk Daniel). If this date is bad for anyone, l

  • Thanks to all who attended.  We didn't get a chance to really have a "get-together" but 3 boats and 5 guys isn't bad for a 1st attempt. Drdriver and son left early (not sure what time) but I think the

My boy and I plan on being there. Red Ford with Z118 ranger. Should be fun. Hope we can get into the lily pads. :eyebrows:

I will have a non-boater with me. Any other updates on who is coming to Butler on the 12th? Anyone need help finding the lake? Let me know if you do. If you are using GPS, it could be called Lake Clymer I guess that was the name before it became Butler County.

Thanks fellas. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

I recommend coming to tge lake via the South way. Shorter gravel road travel, and overall better condition of the gravel road.

I WILL TRY WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF A MOVE RIGHT NOW I WONT KNOW UNTIL A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT DUE TO THE MOVE AND WORK I AM A NON BOATER BUT IF I CAN AND IT WORKS OUT IM IN I ALSO NEED TO SEE IF MY BOATER\PARTNER IS IN TOWN OR NOT HE MIGHT GO BUT I DOUBT IT.

We should take the pound hound down for this!!!! and WHATS UP WITH ALL THE CAPS????

Surface Acres: 124 acres this is perfect for the hound!

I don't think it's that big but I could be wrong.

One other thing to remember: It's a county "state fishing facility" which means it's NO WAKE. There's a sign posted at the entrance to the lake. I don't know why they don't put the signs by the boat ramp.

I think it is. Last time I was out it had a great level. Not blown out, but full. The upended culvert pipe in the SW cove by the dam was still under water, but visible.

I don't think it's that big but I could be wrong.

I got that off of the state of Kansas website, looks like a cool little lake!!

Are you planning to attend  "the get together"????  If so, are you bringing anyone in the back of your boat?

I am trying to get my partner Sizzlefry to go but at this point don't count us in as going.

How late do you guys plan to fish on saturday?

Id say 2 or so. I know my partner drives back to kc, so I wouldn't want to get him in too much trouble with the misses.

Lol. Ok sounds good. im draggin a buddy along with me and he needs to be back by 730 so id say we should be good.

Besides, its not that big of a lake, how much pounding can it take in a day!!!

I dont know much about this lake but I fish small lakes alot and on a good day ive been known to stay a long time lol.

My partner and I will probably stay till about 2PM unless the weather deteriorates.

The Winfield Bass Club usually fishes Butler at least twice. Depending on the time of year it can be as early as 5:30 or as late at 7:30 start time and we fish 7 hours. When we fish with the WBC, there are almost always some really nice fish caught on tournament days. Someone usually catches something upwards of 20". So bring your guns, they should be active this Saturday.

At this time, there's a slight chance (20%) of rain with about 10MPH wind and almost 60 deg at 7AM. Looks like a beautiful fishing day.

Looking forward to seeing you all there. :wink2:

Just an FYI:

The boat ramp is in the Northwest corner of the lake. If you are coming from the South, take the 2nd turn off once you get on Munson Hill rd. If you take the first turnoff you will have to drive all the way around the lake to find the ramp.

And the south way, even though way out if the way if you are coming from the north, is worth it IMO. Shorter/better gravel road.

so what time are we launching im coming from kc so this is important

7am, Chris.  I'll be there a little before then.

I'm going to Butler tomorrow, I'll update what the water level is.

I plan to be there at 7 as well.

Looks like a cold front is supposed to move through sometime Friday which hopefully means some of this wind will disappear
