In the $ 100 dollar range I think the Denali Jadewood would be hard to beat...They have a 7ft heavy that ought to get the job done. there is also a 6ft 6 MH that I personally have thrown 5/8 oz jigs in 30 plus feet of water and had no trouble turning fish. just a suggestion..
7:1, I like to be able to take up the slack when needed. also like it for pitching docks to be able to get the spoon or jig back out of the stall. Everything else is fine with 6:1 or there abouts.I do like 5:1 FOR dd22'S and 6 XD'S ... also pay attention to the IPT ,as it can vary from manufacturers
